Just wishing you luck on this thread, OP! It's a necessary thing to have support, and NSG can be pretty dark for LGBT people. I don't really participate in NSG anymore, but I'll enjoy reading up on this thread now and again (Biromantic/Ace woman here btw).

Yeah, while most people here don't just spew hate to us, there are still a lot of people who clearly subconsciously hate us. It's very nice to meet other LGBT people in the same boat, makes life better.

Speaking of, how do you guys feel about John Waters being a major LGBT figure. Me, as a connoisseur of trash and bad art, I adore the creepy man Kind of a weird political figure but IMO weird is best.

I'm not LGBT or have ever considered it, however I have no problems at all with people who are and support them wholeheartedly. I've heard many different stories from LGBT friends of moments that made them start to question their sexuality, and I was wondering if anyone else would like to share? The only time I questioned my sexuality was the first time I saw Captain America: The First Avenger and Cap came out of the super soldier capsule.

I know a lot of people like this, and I live in probably one of the most liberal countries on Earth. It's a valid anxiety; even if you're not going to be threatened or hurt, you're still revealing a very personal aspect of your life.

With the growing acceptance of LGBTQ+ people, I've seen a very toxic trend growing in many queer communities. Many people - some unintentionally - pressure queer people with liberal parents/in liberal societies to "come out already!"

Similarly, the question "why haven't you come out yet?" is incredibly hurtful and anxiety-inducing.

They say that they spread tolerance and at the same time they use agressive ways to promote their views.
They call anyone that does not support their views as homophbic, heterofascist and patriarchal and other bullshit terms like these.

First of all, LGBT isn't an association that people have memberships for. You don't get a member card like a gym. And second, that type of individual is called a creep and they come in all types.
