Not consciously, in my experience. Gender itself can change (see genderfluidity) but the tired reactionary tale of trans people being like "Hmm I Think I Will Be A Girl Today" is bunk.

If gender identity can change unconsciously, why could it not also change consciously?

That's not what that means. Homo means you find sexual attraction with the same sex, Hetero means you find sexual attraction with the opposite sex, Bi or Pan is anything inbetween.
If you are attracted to both sexes but your one true love was, say, a female, you are still bisexual.

The conversation wasn't about other people, was it? Why include other groups when they weren't relevent? I'm not keeping him ignorant. I really don't get what you are trying to say here, other than insult me for daring to simplify. The field of Sexuality and Gender Identity is a massive subject, and I shouldn't be expected to include all of it in a debate about what hetero, homo, and bisexual means.

Because a lot of posters in the thread (a thread targeted towards LGBT Issues/Support) are LGBT (or at least care deeply about them) so of course they're going to hold their views on such a subject close to their heart. It's not rocket science.
