Heck even Reagan, despite his rhetoric was more protectionist than Carter or Clinton.

Tbh, everyone who's looked at American history from outside the US knows that the US has almost always been a protectionist country.

In the beginning, yes....now? Sorta.

Well then the know more about us than many here, some here seem to think history started in the 90s.
Really the neoliberal free trade stuff really started with LBJ, although it really did not get going until Clinton.
Nixon and Reagan still has protectionist leanings, despite rhetoric sometime indicating otherwise.

The neoliberal free traders tried to claim Trumos protectionism was a betrayal of longstanding Republican and American principles, when nothing could be further from the truth, (the US economic system and Republican Party both protectionist for most their existence) but anyways, getting off topic.

From the beginning until at least the late 1960s, and really the 90s.
Although that is kind of far afield of the topic.

I happen to agree with those "neoliberal free-traders" with respect to this but I digress.

He's overqualified. Again...

Long-lived. He was a state and federal legislator. He headed the executive branch. Now it's time to head the judiciary.

If you don't have anything nice to say it's better to say nothing at all. :)

While I strongly disagreed with her leftist views, I have never wished RBG death or ill, she was a tough as nails lady, highly qualified as a US Supreme Court Justice.

I hope Republican President Trump names and confirms a strong conservative US Supreme Court Justice as soon as possible, before the elections loose or win the election. Like Judge Amy Coney Barrett or stronger. President Trump was correct when he said, there are leftist judges, what he did not say is, there are also right wing judges, like RBG on the left and Brett Kavanaugh on the right, but they also sided or side with the other side from time to time.

Psst... There is a forum where you can report his post. I think this qualifies under Political Nicknaming.

Hearing both nominees reaction, I can say I like both. However I would say I prefer Trump's slightly more, because it was not prepared making it seemed more geniune. I'm gonna still wait for some 3rd party options I am considering however.

Even though I don't agree with your views, I thank you for being kind about this incident unlike the last two.

No, that's respect. It's honoring the Woman who held on to the rights we owned and now she is gone.

A great woman, for that matter. One who deserves all of the respect we give her.

Gloating over death is generally not very civil.
We can still be civil. Basic civility is not a bad thing (even if I do not always do it, I try, at least sometimes).

Only the weak and the pathetic respect their enemies and wish not for their eventual downfall. When you enemy is no longer capable of facing you no matter the circumstance that is a victory and should be treated accordingly. If Stalin were to have died in Moscow would Hitler have lamented? would he have cried? Would he feel in anyway sympathetic? No, Like a proper Great Man he would have pissed on his grave(Figuratively or literally) savoring what he had achieved against his enemy and move on quietly to the next. Vice versa would have held true for the opposite.

Great men seek to destroy the legacies of their enemies, not uphold let alone "respect" them in any measurable way.

I'm not angry that she died but more-so grateful that she lived. Also, appreciating women for their achievements is a good thing.
