I know far more about Barrett, I'll have to look more into Thapar to begin with.

Unsurprisingly, the comment sections for videos of things such as the Crab Rave and a certain song from The Wizard of Oz are already reflecting what has happened.

Hmmmm? I get the vibe she is on par with Kavanaugh.

If they offer somebody else like the CJ, I could handle that. I admit I thought he was going to be an ideologue and I was wrong.

Or it may be even better because they can't afford a firebrand hearing on the Court, especially if they do this before a General Election.

It's one thing to try to nominate Kavanaugh in an off year, it's another to try and full send a controversial appointment before you run the risk of losing your majority.

Indeed. However it goes against old McC’s plan have having people who will only support conservative causes rather the judge by the rule of law.

It certainly is sad to see her pass, and hope her friends and family have seen love and support at this time.

To some of you in the thread, show some dignity.

I just hope (although unlikely) the Republicans actually respect her memory and post as Supreme Court Justiciar and wait until after the election, just as they did in 2016.

No matter who is selected though, they need to maintain the rights of all people, including women's right, minority rights, rights to abortion, as RBG ensured.

Not that I'm an American, but why do you put so much stock into what the Founding Fathers said, espoused, or did? Can the Second Amendment not stand on its own legs without the legacy of a several long-dead people buttressing it?

I guess it’s a matter of semantics, but as I’ve mentioned time and time again, without the 2A, none of the other rights can be enforced

I feel like most people who care would rather someone who they agree with knows the letter and context of the law they agree with, and their gender is a side point.
