I'm an Australian, and I mostly like their Constitution. A Bill of Rights was a great idea, though I don't want it here because of how long it takes courts to put flesh on those bones.
Two things I don't like: the wording of the Second Amendment. I cannot see how the first clause allowing a militia, and the second clause allowing the people to be armed, can be separated completely. I see it as "the people should be allowed their own guns, for the purpose of serving in a militia" which pretty strongly implies no guns for any other purpose. Maybe they assumed that no good law-abiding gun owner would refuse the call to arms from their State. If so, they should have said so.
And the amendment process. It's too difficult.

I think it's going to get a bit hotter, now with trump just said that the senate should honor it's obligation to fill the supreme court seat vacancy immediately.
Might want to upgrade the popcorn to s'mores/hot dogs/brauts/steak, etc.

Not that I'm an American, but why do you put so much stock into what the Founding Fathers said, espoused, or did? Can the Second Amendment not stand on its own legs without the legacy of a several long-dead people buttressing it?
News: Swiss Man uses 'Fonduethrower' on cow test-subject, lethality confirmed, Priest gets drunk on Blood of Christ, claims he just couldn't handle the Jesusness, and War with Tupeia deemed 'inevitable'.

Most of us like our freedoms, mind you. I agree with No State.

Trump said that? It would be good if they just respected her wishes.

We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay!

No, I get that. I might disagree with the Second Amendment, but I'm across the pond, so a lot of things about the US is odd to me, the Second Amendment being one of them. However, I don't get this idea that just because the founders of the country said or did something, it must be a good thing, and that it ought to be followed about two and a half centuries on because it was "what they intended". What they said or did might have solid foundations irrespective of them having said it, but I see this "it was what the Founding Fathers intended" non-argument all the bloody time. It makes no sense.
It's especially ironic in the context of a liberal democracy, because what dead people have intended really shouldn't matter in a liberal democracy. North Korea might be a different case, but the US is (for the time being) a liberal democracy.

Just like all those who felt that they did the right thing by allowing the nomination to be delayed until after the election will also be consistent in their views.

Kanter v. Barr, 919 F.3d 437 (7th Cir. 2019). Barrett wrote a lengthy dissent in favor of gun-ownership rights for felons.
Several years after her confirmation, Judge Barrett voted to clear the way for the first federal execution in 17 years.

I'm gonna politely say no on that one.
