Barrett isn't the issue. Trying to jam an appointment in before the election/inauguration would. Quite simply it'd be a bad faith move after the 2016 debacle, and any faith anybody had left in the system would be destroyed.

Yeah I saw, but Mitt Romney has already said he wouldn't support it. They don't have the votes, and I have a feeling they'll be backing off in a few days once they have a whip count and realize it isn't there.

According to Romney's communication's director, that no longer holds true.

The dogma is strong in her.

She also took money from an lgbt hate group who thinks homosexuality needs to be re-criminalized.

Tough to say, but it's a possible scenario although the likes of McSally, who's destine to lose, will vote for said nominee. Gardner is quiet on the issue but I think he would too, given he's destined to lose as well. Either way, there's too many moving parts and things need to simmer down a bit so we have an idea what will happen although if 2020 wasn't going to be a blood bath already, it will be now.

For now, let's mourn Ginsburg: she has accomplished a lot.

Eh I dunno. This sounds to me more like she's trying to control information, rather than its definitely true.

Elevated to a federal judgeship by Jimmy Carter, Ginsburg was Clinton’s first nomination to the court. The Senate voted 96-3 to confirm her nomination to the supreme court.

Imagine that happening these days..

Remember people, it is up to Lindsey Graham on whether a nominee comes to a vote in the Senate.

I was hoping she would make it well into 2021 just so this election was that much less of a frothing mess. Now both sides are going to be a great deal less civil than they already are.

It's gone from winner makes the decision to WE MUST WIN TO MAKE THE DECISION! It's put the pressure pre-election rather than post-election.

Hopefully Trump just gets someone in the seat ASAP. Because whoever is selected is going to be a disaster, best just get it over with so it is not yet another problem.

I genuinely feel horrible for all of the Jewish communities who are going to find out about RBG's passing tomorrow night and Sunday.

There's gonna be massive waves of grief and panic the next couple of days from all over the US.
