Even that isn’t too hard. It’s not impossible to wire your own outlets or fans

Wellll it is possible. Doing it right is another question. My house made a little too much use of what is pejoratively called okie rope. During a review of the outlets; found one case where a power line was accidentally cut and somebody striped and black taped the pieces back together. That or somebodies idea to extend wiring.

I didn’t say you needed to wire an entire home but adding an outlet or fan on your own isn’t that difficult to do. But patching a wall is super easy and something everyone should know how to do

Nope, it's definitely an American thing. It's what happens when someone decides they need an extension cord with two male ends.

Wait, those things are illegal? I am sure there is an American extention cord with two male ends in storage in my house, we found it while looking through what's generally refered to as 'the stuff.' No idea what my dad used it for over in the states though, might even have come with our UPS.

Oh very, and I've no idea what it was used for (if it was even used.) A bit of digging suggests they have some sort of use with generators though.

Apparently that's what it seems they're used for, plug one end into the outlet on the generator and the other into a wall outlet and you can power the house off the generator.

TL;DR Male sergeant was brutalizing cuffed suspect, so female officer yanked him off of the suspect. To which he turned around and choked her out while slamming her against a cruiser.

Thoughts on this? There's so much I could say about it from start to finish but I'm in too much shock to even formulate a proper sentence right now.

Edit: I will say one thing (of many, many, many things I could say), is that this is what scares me about being a female LEO. I've heard some pretty big horror stories. She tried to do the right thing and got physically attacked by a superior in front of multiple other officers who did nothing. Absolutely disgusting.

I've found it's 1000 percent easier to pay someone else to do pretty much anything around the house.

It's not just about the laughably poor police training many officers get, but it's also about the caliber of people being hired as police officers combined with the culture of impunity and the "Blue Wall of Silence" attitude which permeates police departments all over the US.

When Buffalo police officer Cariol Horne tried to do the right thing and stop a fellow officer from brutalizing his detainee, she was rewarded and celebrated...

Just kidding.

She was, of course, fired and denied a pension.

I saw Gregory Kwiatkowski punching Neal Mack in the face,” she says. “Gregory Kwiatkowski was the officer. Neal Mack was handcuffed in the front, which is not protocol. Gregory Kwiatkowski was punching him in the face.”

Once Mack was brought out of the house and into the yard, Horne says Kwiatkowski started choking him.

“When he didn't stop, that's when I grabbed his arm from around Neal Mack's neck,” she says. “That's when he came up out of the crouched position and punched me in the face.”

When Horne, a 19-year veteran of the Buffalo Police Department, reported the incident to her lieutenant, she says the lieutenant said the situation had to be investigated, despite proof that Horne was injured. She says she had to have major dental work done, which included replacing a bridge in her mouth and mending a rotator cuff tear.

But unlike Floyd’s case, there was no video footage of what transpired. Kwiatkowski and other officers who were on the scene claim Horne had actually endangered the arresting officer while he was struggling.

The police department brought disciplinary charges against Horne then fired her months before she would have collected a pension. Horne has been fighting for more than a decade to get her pension.

In 2009, Kwiatkowski was sentenced to four months in prison for excessive force in a separate incident. He and two other officers pulled over four teenagers. Kwiatkowski reportedly rammed the teens, one by one, headfirst into a police car as they were handcuffed.

Mack, who was the suspect during the arrest where Horne intervened, says Horne saved his life by intervening.

Kwiatkowski should just be arrested for the rest of his life. One day, we will end up with a murder case instead of an assault case. and Horne should receive her pension. They treated her like they should have treated Kwiatkowsi. Kwiatkowsi is the one who should've been punished.

Where they cannot win by judicial rule, they will rule by procedural theft. Where they cannot convince voters to vote for them, they will convince the candidate they voted for to become one of them." - Tressie McMillan Cottom | "...now you have someone sitting on top of the personal data of several billion users, someone who has a long track record of vindictive harassment, someone who has the ear of the far right, and someone who has just shown us his willingness to weaponize internal company data to score political points.
