The incident began about 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 2 when Officer Chase Bebak-Miller noticed Cano riding a bicycle without a front headlight near Nevada and Erie streets. Bebak-Miller activated his lights and sirens after Cano began weaving into both lanes of traffic.

The unredacted video shows Cano later abandoning the bicycle near an empty canal and running toward Gazelle Meadows Park. No one is around. Bebak-Miller chases after Cano on foot and shouts at him to stop seconds before seeing Cano drop a gun and reach to pick it up.

Bebak-Miller shouts, "Weapon drawn! Get on the ground!" less than a second before shooting Cano once at close range and, more than a second later, again. Cano can be seen immediately collapsing after the first shot and is shot again while lying face down. Bebak-Miller shouts at Cano to put his hands behind his back, which Cano seems to have difficulty doing. He eventually manages to slowly move his hands behind his back, but Bebak-Miller screams again for Cano to keep them behind his back when they fall to his sides.

"I'm sorry, sir," Cano can be heard saying. "I can't."

"Keep 'em there," Bebak-Miller says.

"I'm trying," Cano replies.

"Hey, I want to help you, OK?" Bebak-Miller says.

As other officers arrive at the scene, Cano then pleads for officers to"hurry."

Cano can be heard saying, "I don't want to die," as officers cuff his hands. ebak-Miller pulls Cano on his side as other officers administer first aid to one of the bullet wounds. Cano tells the officer that he was trying to throw the gun away.

"Well, I thought you were pulling it on me, man," Bebak-Miller responds. "That was f------ stupid."

Cano tells officers that he can't feel his legs as they continue to administer first aid. Officers cut off Cano's jacket and shirt while repeatedly telling Cano to keep talking as Bebak-Miller walks away and turns off his body camera.

Cano was transported to a hospital where he died on Jan. 23.

Bebak-Miller has five years of experience with the department. Chandler police said its Criminal Investigation Bureau completed its investigation into the shooting and submitted the case to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for review.

After the County Attorney's Office determines whether to pursue criminal charges against the officer, Chandler police's Use of Force Review Board will review the case before submitting it to a citizens review panel made up of 15 Chandler residents appointed by the mayor.

Last week, Cano's mother, Renee Clum, was among family members who questioned why he was stopped in the first place.

"He was scared, coming home. He wasn’t doing anything wrong other than riding a bike without a light.”

As long as it never happens to them the #BackTheBlue crowd will never care. As long as its other peoples family members or friends being murdered for no reason they'll keep on waving their stupid ass flags and fight any attempts to put more oversight on law enforcement.

A double tap is instantaneous. The officer paused for more than a second, adjusted his aim, and then fired again. The officer's a cold blooded piece of shit.

Although he is currently in custody at the Dallas County Jail for the grisly crimes, Riser has not yet been terminated as a law-enforcement officer, and remains on administrative leave pending an Internal Affairs investigation, a department spokesperson said.

And of course those who tried to save the kid are probably gonna be backing their colleague who shot him after pausing to adjust his aim while the kid was already on the ground and the weapon was out of his reach.

Someone being abused and killed doesn't give you the right nor moral high ground to burn down a business and hurt someone's livelihood who had absolutely nothing to do with it. Do you not understand that?

Yes, but being mad about the former in a discussion about the later is the problem. When we're talking about the police brutalizing a black man, jumping in and saying "wElL WhAT aBoUt ThE bLm RiOTs!1?" is as ridiculous as saying "all buildings matter" on 9/11

First off, I dont like the police since they're a corrupt institution that isn't held accountable. I do not trust them at all and I have good reasons for it so don't give me the blue lives matter spiel. Second off of course all lives matter. Of course white people's lives matter, when did i say they did not? But when a black man gets killed by police, a whole lot of right wing media talking heads get on the case trying to dig up anything bad the guy ever did so they can justify a man being murdered. "Oh look he stole $2 at age 10. The cops had to put this animal (terminology often used) down." Im sick of it. I'll care about the slave labor company Target losing some stores when people care about men being murdered by the state and then the 4th branch of the government going out of their way to justify it by using racist stereotypes and flimsy justifications for kids losing parents or parents losing kids.

Who is born a cop? That's kind of a requirement for a "blue life" to be a thing.

It's a classic deflection with no real purpose, the people who say this will do nothing and continue to play blind over racism.
