Why have such restrictions?

If you're going to put in the work to have a child then you should have that child. Some people need Abortions. It shouldn't just be for horny people who couldn't keep it in their pants.

It should be for anyone who needs an abortion. Punishing someone with a kid because they made a mistake is horrible.

wrt the thread, we were taught that abortion was a lot easier to access in NZ than, in fact, it is... which is why it was liberalised in the last three years (forget when exactly). On the other hand, given it was basically a non-issue, perhaps we were taught accurately, it's just they didn't want to leave the regulation as a criminal matter.
