NEW POLL FOR 4/15/22
So one thing that I've noticed amidst all the different iterations of this thread is that folks seem to have differing opinions on what constitutes a 'compromise', and that what seems like a compromise to one person seems wholly unacceptable to another. The abortion argument is often fraught with emotionally-charged commentary, mostly from the pro-life side but I make no claim that the pro-choice side is completely devoid of emotion or snap-judgements.
I find myself curious as to how much thought folks have given to the concept of compromise. Are they willing to consider alternatives if they understand the ramifications? Will they simply refuse to listen because it defies their preconceptions and morals?
Thus:
Poll Question wrote:What would you consider to be the best 'compromise'?
My Response wrote:This still goes with my position that compromise is always possible, and I constantly assert that it'd be easier and more cost-effective to install welfare supports and medical/social assistance for unexpected parents than it is to simply ban abortions outright. Banning abortion to me is a knee-jerk reaction that is poorly considered in terms of both execution and ramifications. I'm fine with viability as a time-limit, but emergencies can always happen and the woman should not be precluded from seeking remedy in such circumstances.
Edited for new poll.

Interesting. The 'Preserving Life is priority' option, which would most likely be the pro-life position, actually won a plurality this go-round. I wonder if there's an explanation for the shift.
