I've never heard of a "gender reveal" party until now. You guys actually celebrate that kind of thing?
Because sometimes even national leaders just want to hang out

Most Americans don't, usually it's younger, upper-middle class white folks in the suburbs who feel it'll add a certain "flare" to their life. And it does, if flare means a flare-up of brushes catching on fire.

Yeah ain't portland a "green city?" So basically food for a fire.
It's not too different from other cities from the times I've visited imo but just all that stuff packed together would be awful. Fires move fast, it wouldn't take long for most of the city to be in flames if it did hit.

Portland is actually surprisingly small for a city. The downtown area is close to the river, and it takes not even 20 minutes to get to areas that are less crowded. That said, living here right now SUCKS!.

Is there much of a difference? I went to Albuquerque and it was just like visiting Mexico.
Dry as a bone and there were hispanics everywhere. Also there's drug addicts everywhere and it's dangerous as shit.

The main difference is that I couldn't make a joke about immigrants coming over and stealing American jobs.
Although, I have to say, I quite like Albuquerque, and didn't find it dangerous or druggy.
"This." The cities and towns under "go now" Level 3 evacuations are more or less on the fringe of the Portland Metropolitan Area.Wahlid wrote:Portland proper won't burn. Most of the bigger Clackamas county suburbs that are closer to Portland probably won't burn either. It was supposed to be 85 F today, but the smoke was so thick idk if it even got to 70 F.
The weather forecast says it'll rain next Tuesday, and go back to normal September weather after that.
It's been mostly the same across most of the Pacific Northwest. Also, "getting out of here" entails having both somewhere else to go and the means to do it.Major-Tom wrote:Any chance you can get tf out of there? I have friends outside Portland who weren't forced to evacuate, but high-tailed it up to Tacoma regardless. Dunno about your situation, but I wouldn't risk it.
After trying for years, I left Portland for good in 2016, really the only thing I truly missed was Southeast Grind, but now everyone probably misses it because it closed late last year. Oh, you probably meant right now, not in general.Neutraligon wrote:Portland is actually surprisingly small for a city. As for the forecast, they're now predicting changing more favorable conditions between Sunday night and Monday night, depending on the exact area. Hopefully, we'll get some cleaner air. Damn slippery fingers.
And in a bizarre twist of irony, Mexico is actually sending firefighters.

A family friend who lives near Portland was like, "You know what's going on here, right?"
But they're still going...
