Only a Filipino Korean war will resolve this.

I suspect this is partially because there is jealousy. The US and Japan were enemies but Japan still got more economic and military assistance than the Philippines did after 1945 on a consistent basis. To the point where Japan became the 2nd richest nation for a while via their own efforts. All the Philippines got was national sovereignty but didn't go very far in a global sense.

Germany and most of western Europe got flooded with cash and economic development via the Marshal Plan that the European nations in the Soviet sphere completely missed out on.

It is just people with sour grapes in certain countries wanting to try to claim reparations or leverage from the countries that did better than theirs did, in my mind. So I don't take it too seriously. Japan did better than South Korea, but South Korea could be said to have done better than the Philippines if we judge countries by how rich each became.

I would argue people that actually lived through the Japanese occupation have a right to be upset, however. So long as people who lived through it are still around, you can't really chalk it up as "ancient" history.

This is exactly what China wants. Instead of bickering over historical grievances and being racist to one another, they should emulate the fine example of the Milk Tea Alliance. I personally have nothing against either country although I think I prefer South Korea and K-Pop to whatever it is the Philippines has to offer.

The comics are a little confusing to me. Malaysia never conquered the Philippines because it didn't exist at the time. And I don't understand the comic where the parent scolds the child over multiple generations. What's that all about?

Of course you can. Unless those people were literally victims (not just around at the time) they have no reason to complain. And if they were, than fine, let those individual people complain and the rest of society can move on.

I mean, just because you support kpop doesn’t mean you support all Koreans or Korea as a whole.
I mean, unless the offender was a kpop stan I think it’s normal enough for kpop idol to use the hashtag since kpop isn’t involved.
