Of course I would. Eggs over-easy aren't all that filling, just eat a few of them an hour over the course of the day.

I think motivation matters. I would argue that it's not gluttony unless you're eating the eggs because you want to eat a mess of eggs, without any actual need to eat a mess of eggs. If you don't actually want to eat the eggs, but you're doing it anyway because some fool is paying you a lot of money to do it, it's not gluttony, though greed may still be applicable. So when I eat half a dozen deviled eggs just because I like deviled eggs, that's gluttony. If I eat sixty - which is about fifty more than I want to - because I'm getting paid a million bucks a pop, that's not gluttony, but is probably greed.

But similarly, if you want the money because you want to wallow in it Scrooge McDuck-style, or drown yourself in ale and whores, that's greed. If you want the money so you can endow an orphanage, that's not greed.

But then, if you want to endow the orphanage not out of charity towards the orphans, but because you want everyone to see your name in big letters on the façade and know how charitable you are, that would be pride...

I'm not familiar with "gobbling" as a mortal sin. What religion sends you to Hell for bad table manners? In my experience, this means that anyone who's ever been through military basic training is going to Hell. It trains you to inhale food as fast as possible when you get the chance, because you don't know how long you've got, or when you're going to get another chance.

(Personally, I have long held the position that the Seven Deadly Sins are in fact the primary driving forces of all human progress.)

So a technical question: If I make a mess of deviled eggs, but don't eat all of the yolk from all of them because I couldn't practically scrape it all off the bowl where I mixed up the stuffing, does that still count? The mayonnaise for the stuffing is made largely from egg, so I'd actually be adding more egg than I'd be losing, though it would be from different eggs than the nominal sixty...

We're not talking about gluttony or greed. Simply "I'm not an animal, and so are you not. We are humans." If it's better to eat from a cup than a bottle according to my religion, then gobbling...........yeah.

Anyway, we don't need to turn this into another religion thread, so simply my answer: no.
