Remember the 2016 Census? The site crashed from so much traffic flowing into the ABS site. It's been
subject to hacking attempts quite a few times in the past decade or so.

I hear Sydney's Epping to Chatswood Metro has trains too wide for its tunnels.
https://independentaustralia.net/business/business-display/the-sydney-metro-northwest-tunnels--death-traps-in-the-making,11463
Is this a fire hazard by any chance?
Because I really don't want to think about an ordinary Metro train running through Sydney's northwest becoming the
next Mont Blanc Tunnel or Kaprun disaster.

So apparently, if 70% of all Aussies get vaccinated, vaccinated people will have fewer restrictions imposed on them during lockdowns, and when we reach 80% of the population lockdowns will end, and international travel will restart (which I'm wary about but sure?)

Still no quarantine facility at Wellcamp yet. Wagners are ready to go....
not so sure Scott is,
even though Palaszczuk and Young are.

Toowoomba is almost up there with Darwin (albeit by 10,000) in terms of population.
Why haven't the Feds approved it yet? It sounds like a sound idea.

Meanwhile, how's NSW holding up?

What is your point???
Some of the Libs' biggest donors are arms manufacturers like Thales and Lockheed-Martin.
And besides, Australia's "supposed" to be an ally of the US.

I think the user just makes random comments about Australia here, plus we're screwed if we're up against one of the biggest militaries in the world unless we have another nation of size and influence backing us up.

Guess who's claiming that they never stated that AZ was worse for under 40's than Covid? Did you say Palaszczuk and Janet Young? Well guess what! You're correct. Funny how they immediately changed their mind about the matter when QLD had an outbreak. Knowing how her pettiness and childishness have influenced her leadership, I don't believe that QLD will exit lockdown until at least Palaszczuk is out of hotel quarantine, irrespective of case numbers. I can't understand why you QLDers like Palaszczuk so so much. Has she put some kind of spell on you or something, blinding you to the fact that she's an overgrown toddler?

How about we start getting ppl to start declaring how much water they own the license to? Like in - and especially in - the Murray Darling Basin?

That's still not going to increase the amount of water that exists in Australia

Now, now. A lot of people have legitimate reasons for wanting Western Australia to open their borders- e.g. having a sick/dead relative in WA and visting them in hospital, going to their funeral. Being a tourist operator who relies on the east coast for your tourism $$$, being an interstate truckie/courier/etc. who hates the hassle of closed borders, being an interstate delivery person who's been put of the job because of border closures, etc. These are all legitimate reasons for wanting WA to open their borders. Clive Palmer on the other hand is a billionaire who wanted the borders open for the sole purpose of advancing his own wealth. Whether or not you agree with them, do not cheapen legit reasons for wanting the borders open by comparing them to Clive Palmer's bullshit reasoning. Clive Palmer is in his own catagory

As a young Sydneysider, all I can think of is "welp, they found a way to do it during lockdown"

The Socialist Republic of Astrakhan wrote:What if China conquered Australia.

They wouldn't last long. Remember when the Japanese tries to conquer Australia? China may very well conquer us if they were to wage a war, Australia would likely lose the war. It's after the war that Vhina would quickly come to realise that trying to invade Australia is a mistake. Australia is unconquerable and was only ever conquered once- when the British colonised her. Beyond that, any other country would have a difficult time trying to keep hold of her

Can't wait. I wanna know what happens when (not if, when) NSW and/or VIC reach that threshold before the rest of the country

Big governments reduce the trickle-down effect to some extent, but i agree: Capitalism is not the ideal system for a society.

In my opinion, Neoliberalism is the worst. Keynesian's not much better,
so how about classical liberalism or egalitarianism?

Classical's only valid for 19-20th century, big-government capitalism, I bellieve.
I guess, Ricardo's can be used even to this day, though.

Egalitarianism is trending these days, but there's still inequality. Give around fifty years.
