Heard it's freedom day for you NSWelshmen. I learnt it from Great Aussie Drives'
comment section. Congrats.

I wonder how Dom Perrottet's going to go as the new premier. Now, I don't particularly like his religion or ideology (I'm secular, used to be a Christian), but I hope that with Kean on board, maybe they'll do some great things.

We're doing fine, we've just got a mask mandate for the Greater Brisbane region right now.

I am a delivery driver. Today was my first day back to work after lockdown. I went very far (but still within the limit I can travel without a permit). Gosh it felt good to get back on the road. I would have gone for a long drive today even if I was retired, so at least I got paid for it

Day 1 or NSW pissing off Victorians by starting the current outbreak then getting out of lockdown

Listen, One Nation and the United Australia Party have a modus operandi,
like all parties do.
One Nation's MO is just to latch on to these extremely unpopular, fringe issues,
to gain the "far-right's" vote, which they then preference with the Coalition, and vote with them
on almost everything.

United Australia Party's job sort of aligns with getting the far right and conspiracy theorist vote
and doing the same thing.

However, it should be made clear that Pauline and Craig are aimed at getting the Libs'
a fourth term through preferences and the same expensive advertising campaign the UAP
undertook at the last election.

(In the QLD state election, his 'death tax' scare campaign was found to be a complete fabrication.)

If those fucking Sydneysiders get to waltz down Bourke Street while we’re under lockdown, I’m gonna lose my head.
Before this current iteration of lockdown, I always disliked Sydney and her population. Too humid, to unpredictable, has rubbish sport teams.
But now, I hate them to the core. Every single motherfucking bit of them. Australian RePublic I think you’re a nice person, don’t take this personally if you are from Sydney.

But those absolute idiots of the NSW Government that has thankfully ceased to exist, and those absolute tossers of the Sydney government refused to go into lockdown when the Delta strain was introduced, because they were to arrogant about ‘muh freedoms’ and were total knobs and spread the virus around Australia.
Then, ScoMo gives them more vaccines than Victoria and the other states, essentially rewarding them for their arrogance and disregard for biosafety. If this was a fucking new Dutch Elm
Disease they wouldn’t have let it go past customs at Sydney International. But noooo, these are humans, who cares about them? We’ll shaft them in the climate conferences too.
Then, you get out of lockdown before Victoria, because of ‘muh freedoms’.
Now, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WALK THROUGH THE ENTIRETY OF MELBOURNE WHILE THE ACTUAL POPULATION IS STILL IN LOCKDOWN. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND DISGRACEFUL.

Scott Morrison better bring some damn good commitments to Glasgow-oh wait.

Biden's too scared to go against what the big oil majors (ExxonMobil, Chevron, etc.) want,
Australia's still....well, Australia,
and Norway's trying to make its record seem palatable despite their oil exports.

Yep, as I said before, environmentalism is all window dressing. The most vocal environmentalists are the worst polluters out there. Everyone from Greta Thunberg to Leo Decaprio to Al Gore to the whole Danish government all claim to be environmentalists, yet they pollute more than most other people. I had an environmentalist uni lecturer. She lived and worked in inner Sydney, and had absolutely no need to own a car. She drove to work everyday. Most environmentalists are hypocrites, which is why I don't take them seriously. All these "net zero targets" are all bullshit window dressing

"Environmentalists pollute too" is an argument I've heard all too well. It's (to a degree) true,
but it doesn't solve anything, does it?
And also, the argument you present leads me to the logical conclusion of,
"That's it??? So long, good luck?!"

Plus, that's not really the best argument, 'well you do it'. It's true, but it doesn't solve anything, does it?

Okay, let me reword it. All climate change policy is just talk. I am yet to see any promenant climate activist do something. What's the difference between pretending to care about an issue and not caring about an issue without the pretence?

The ‘short and sharp’ method worked virtually every time before this, because it wasn’t Delta. Knew tactics need to be applied. And yes, Gladys is definitely not the greatest looked upon in Melbourne right now.

I don't like EVS, they require too much cobalt. And as I said all along. Subsidise green technologies. There is a non-plastix, biodegradable cling wrap developed in Australia. If I were the government, I would fund such initiatives to make them marketable so that plastic cling wrap becomes a thing of the past

Does that include solar, wind and batteries?

Norway is run on primarily renewables and batteries, yet still exports lots of oil.

Cool.
Also, apparently QLD's getting a big new green hydrogen facility - supposed to be one of the largest in the world - at Gladstone, I think.

If ScoMo really wanted to piss off the Chinese and the ALP environmentalists who oppose him, he should say that the only reason why dig coal out of the ground is for China's sake, and if it wasn't for China, we wouldn't be digging coal out of the ground. If I were him, that's what I'd do

I just wanna give a shout out to my local council (which, I'm not going to name publicly, as you don't need to know where I live). I just wanna give a shout out to my local council. On my street, there was a huge branch which had fallen off a street tree posing danger to any motorist or potentially causing damage to parked cars, as well as a giant, highly dangerous pot hole which was at least a foot or 2 deep. I messaged the council on Facebook, and within two days, the tree branch was gone, and by the fourth day, the pot hole was fixed
