Scott Morrison better bring some damn good commitments to Glasgow-oh wait.
Biden's too scared to go against what the big oil majors (ExxonMobil, Chevron, etc.) want,
Australia's still....well, Australia,
and Norway's trying to make its record seem palatable despite their oil exports.

Yep, as I said before, environmentalism is all window dressing. The most vocal environmentalists are the worst polluters out there. Everyone from Greta Thunberg to Leo Decaprio to Al Gore to the whole Danish government all claim to be environmentalists, yet they pollute more than most other people. I had an environmentalist uni lecturer. She lived and worked in inner Sydney, and had absolutely no need to own a car. She drove to work everyday. Most environmentalists are hypocrites, which is why I don't take them seriously. All these "net zero targets" are all bullshit window dressing

Plus, that's not really the best argument, 'well you do it'. It's true, but it doesn't solve anything, does it?
And also, the argument you present leads me to the logical conclusion of,
"That's it?! So long, good luck?"

Yes, I am from Sydney, as are most of my family and friends. But I have family all over the country, including Melbourne. I didn't understand why Gladys dind't lockdown earlier either, but how has the "short and sharp" lockdown wored for Melbourne?

The ‘short and sharp’ method worked virtually every time before this, because it wasn’t Delta. Knew tactics need to be applied. And yes, Gladys is definitely not the greatest looked upon in Melbourne right now.

Everything Gladys did also worked pre-Delta. What's your point?

I don't like EVS, they require too much cobalt. And as I said all along. Subsidise green technologies. There is a non-plastix, biodegradable cling wrap developed in Australia. If I were the government, I would fund such initiatives to make them marketable so that plastic cling wrap becomes a thing of the past

Does that include solar, wind and batteries?

Fortunately, EV automakers are working hard to reduce or eliminate cobalt in their batteries, then.

Cool.
Also, apparently QLD's getting a big new green hydrogen facility - supposed to be one of the largest in the world - at Gladstone, I think.

Twiggy's company is building it.
