[UPDATE] Charlie Hebdo targeted AGAIN

Postby Glorious Hong Kong » Wed Sep 02, 2020 3:01 pm

[Original OP dated Sep. 3 spoilered below]

UPDATE: Charlie Hebdo targeted AGAIN + New poll

Charlie Hebdo: Stabbings suspect 'was trying to target magazine'

Barely three weeks after Charlie Hebdo republished cartoons of Mohammed, its former offices in Paris have come under attack AGAIN. Two people have been stabbed although neither are in a life-threatening condition. But this right here only proves my original point about upholding freedom of expression. Europe today is apparently no safer than it was five years ago. The attack is attributed to a Pakistani migrant who is clearly ungrateful and disrespectful toward his host country of France and deserves to be deported back to Pakistan after serving a lengthy jail sentence and barred from ever returning to France or the EU. Muslim migrants who refuse to assimilate and respect the customs and traditions of the countries that have generously admitted them with open arms should be told in no uncertain terms to fuck off and never come back. Recent converts to Islam who would similarly betray their country's values and traditions should similarly be asked to leave. No more political correctness. No more IsLaMoPhObIa. No more "but what about the lives of Arabs and Muslims and those poor, oppressed Palestinians". No more "but those Americans and Jews Israelis Zionists are way more evil!" Definitely no more victim-blaming and no more "Charlie Hebdo and the French people had it coming. FuCk tHeM."

In response to this cowardly attack, even more cartoons of Mohammed should be immediately published and distributed the world over just to piss these Islamist terrorist snowflakes off to no end, and the cartoons should aim to be as blatantly offensive as possible for maximum effect. These murdering terrorist cowards should know that Europe will NEVER surrender to Islamist intimidation and the ENTIRE WORLD will NEVER surrender to Islamist intimidation. It's time to stand up for what's right.

I'm not saying we should draw more cartoons to piss off all Muslims. I'm saying we should draw cartoons to piss off the terrorists, Islamists, and fundamentalists who would fucking KILL over a harmless drawing on a fucking piece of paper. I'm only saying this because Charlie Hebdo was attacked yet again. If the attack hadn't happened, I would've been inclined to drop the issue and urge everyone to move on but NO.

Again, I live in, and am a citizen of, a Muslim-majority country where the "crime" of insulting Islam can land me in jail for as long as ELEVEN YEARS even though sharia doesn't officially apply to non-Muslims, so "no compulsion in Islam" my FLYING FUCK. I'm in no position to draw a single cartoon or burn a single copy of the Qur'an in solidarity with Parisians, Frenchmen, and Europeans. But there are those who can and should if they are able to overcome the fear factor and strike out with grace.

So again, I turn this over to NSG. Should even more cartoons of Mohammed be published in response to this cowardly terror attack? Why or why not?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53985407

French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has republished cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed that made them the target of a deadly terror attack in 2015.
Republication comes a day before 14 people go on trial accused of helping the two Islamist attackers carry out their gun rampage on 7 January 2015.
Twelve people were killed, including famous cartoonists. Five people died in a related attack in Paris days later.
The attacks began a wave of jihadist strikes across France.

The front cover of the latest edition features the 12 original cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, which were published in a Danish newspaper before appearing in Charlie Hebdo. One of the cartoons shows the prophet wearing a bomb instead of a turban. The French headline reads "Tout ça pour ça" ("All of that for this").
In its editorial, the magazine says that it has often been asked to carry on printing caricatures of the prophet since the 2015 killings.
"We have always refused to do so, not because it is prohibited - the law allows us to do so - but because there was a need for a good reason to do it, a reason which has meaning and which brings something to the debate," it says.
"To reproduce these cartoons in the week the trial over the January 2015 terrorist attacks opens seemed essential to us."
What's expected at the trial?
Fourteen people are accused of obtaining weapons and providing logistical support for the attackers of Charlie Hebdo's Paris offices, and subsequent attacks on a Jewish supermarket and a police officer.

Three of the accused are being tried in absentia as they are believed to have fled to northern Syria and Iraq.
There are believed to be some 200 plaintiffs in the trial and survivors of the attacks are expected to testify, France's RFI broadcaster reports.
The trial had been due to start in March but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. It is due to last until November.
What happened in 2015?
On 7 January, brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi stormed the offices of Charlie Hebdo, and opened fire killing the editor Stéphane Charbonnier, known as Charb, four other cartoonists including Cabu, two columnists, a copy editor, a guest attending the meeting and the caretaker. The editor's bodyguard and a police officer were also killed.
media captionAs the manhunt for the attackers continues, here's a tribute to those killed - in 60 seconds
As police hunted down the two brothers - who were eventually killed - another siege began in the east of Paris. Amedy Coulibaly, who was an acquaintance of the Kouachi brothers, killed a policewoman before taking several people hostage at a Jewish supermarket. He killed four Jewish men on 9 January before being shot dead in a police standoff.
In a video recording, Coulibaly said the attacks had been carried in the name of the Islamic State group.
Why was Charlie Hebdo a target?
Charlie Hebdo's anti-establishment satire - poking fun at the far right, and aspects of Catholicism and Judaism as well as Islam - had long drawn controversy.
But it was its portrayals of the Prophet Mohammed that led to death threats against the editorial team and a petrol bomb attack on its offices in 2011.
Charb had strongly defended the cartoons as symbolic of freedom of speech. "I don't blame Muslims for not laughing at our drawings," he told the Associated Press in 2012. "I live under French law. I don't live under Koranic law."
Following the 2015 attack, thousands of people took to the streets in protest and the hashtag #JeSuisCharlie (I am Charlie) began trending around the world.
Managing editor Gerard Biard told the BBC in 2016 that the magazine's emergence as an international symbol had brought with it fresh criticism of its provocative and controversial tone, with many people calling for it to have more respect for the views - and beliefs - of others.

So what do you guys think about Charlie Hebdo's decision to re-publish the Jyllands-Posten cartoons of Mohammed as well as their decision to publish their own cartoons that got 12 of its staff brutally murdered by Islamist terrorist snowflakes 5 years ago? What was your reaction to the Charlie Hebdo terror attack in 2015? Where were you and what were you doing at the time? Have your views on Islam, political correctness, and freedom of speech and expression changed in response to the terror attack?

I was at home when the attack happened. I learned about it the next morning.

For me, the Charlie Hebdo terror attack marked a turning point in how I viewed Islam as a religion and a political ideology. Several years of residing in a racist, Muslim-majority country where Malay-Muslim extremists in positions of power lorded it over non-Muslim second-class citizens who were too afraid to push back against their theocratic bullshit for fear of provoking racial riots and pogroms against their communities combined with harsh jail sentences for those who "insult Islam" had already begun to exact a mental toll on me and my impression of Islam had started to grow increasingly negative by the time the attack occurred.

The Charlie Hebdo terror attack cemented my growing hatred of Islam and everything that it stood for in opposition to the enlightened values of Western civilization. This attack was, without a doubt, an attack on the very soul of Western civilization and an attack on secularism, freedom of belief, and most importantly, freedom of speech and expression.

Hearing many a woke leftist and so-called "moderate" Muslim gaslight and divert the subject away from freedom of expression and fighting terrorism and toward trumped-up accusations of "Islamophobia", "freedom of religion" for Muslims and only Muslims, respecting the "religious sensitivities" of the same and only the same, and the cynical whataboutism that Arab and Muslim lives mattered less than those of Westerners, implying that the deaths of these journalists at the hands of Islamist terrorist snowflakes didn't matter, angered me further still and caused me to definitively break ranks with these increasingly woke, politically correct, hypocritical leftists for excusing the inexcusable. Most of my fellow Malaysians similarly defended the indefensible and even declared that Charlie Hebdo had it coming.

This attack and subsequent terror attacks that struck Western Europe coincided with a massive wave of mostly Muslim migration of refugees and migrants and made me increasingly critical of open borders and mass immigration, particularly Muslim immigration, a view I still hold to this day, and while it took a while, I eventually switched from supporting Palestinian Muslim terrorism, endlessly demonizing Israel, and borderline antisemitism, to becoming a staunch and proud Zionist and an unwavering supporter of Israel. After all, why would I want to support the very kinds of people who would have me killed for critiquing their faith?

I was thoroughly convinced that the civilized nations and cultures of the world were now firmly at war with Islam and that the West had to win the battle of ideas and ideologies rather than capitulate and cave to political correctness and the depredations of those who would seek to subvert Western freedoms by using those very freedoms against itself, similar to what the CCP has been doing. While I still take a very dim view toward Islam as a religion and an institution, I now recognize, especially in light of how horribly the officially atheist Chinese Communist Party has behaved in recent years and months, that the boogeyman I was unconsciously railing against is, in fact, authoritarianism rather than Islam per se, although I'm still not going to give Islam a free pass for theological reasons that seem to at least make it part of the problem, but not all of it. However, the gulf between myself and the exceedingly woke, radical Left has only continued to widen since the Charlie Hebdo terror attack.

I still believe that a small but extremely influential minority of radical Islamists and ultraconservative Muslim fundamentalists, financed primarily by Saudi Arabia, in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries, are attempting to infiltrate and Islamize the societies they reside in and impose their intolerant, totalitarian vision on non-Muslims and ordinary Muslims alike at the expense of human rights and democracy. It is not racist simply to stand up to these stealth jihadi extremists or even critique Islam itself. These Islamists will stop at nothing to ensure that all religion belongs to Allah as a verse in the Qur'an plainly states. We remain at war with these people. But in order to defeat these extremists, we must first defeat political correctness and woke cancel culture spearheaded by well-meaning, but ultimately misguided, radical leftists.

I no longer believe we are at war with Islam per se and my militant, antireligious views have moderated in light of the atheist CCP's increasingly vile behavior and conduct at home and abroad. I still believe, however, that the Western world, as well as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, are, on average, objectively and culturally superior to the Arab and Muslim world by leaps and bounds. A culture that practices female genital mutilation, throws gays off rooftops, beheads infidels, atheists, and apostates, and stones adulterers and rape victims to death, is objectively much more savage and barbaric than a culture that upholds human rights, liberty, democracy, the rule of law, due process, etc. It was the Charlie Hebdo attacks that led me to eschew political correctness and stop pretending that all religions and cultures are equal to one another in the first place. The simple fact is that they are not.

As a free speech absolutist, I believe Charlie Hebdo was right to publish cartoons of Mohammed both then as well as now. I do not believe in deliberately trolling and provoking others except in response to threats of violence, intimidation, and/or legal action by a state actor in an attempt to silence myself and others for daring to be so outspoken. By re-publishing the Jyllands-Posten cartoons, Charlie Hebdo is taking a stand for freedom of expression and sending a message that any attempts to silence controversial or opposing views will be met with an even louder response. The more their critics yell "how dare you" and "racist", the more they should reply with "yes, how dare we".

Everything must be ridiculed or else you come in nasty situations like dictatorships or censorship’s. This Mohammed is no exception. If people get so angry they do a terrorist attack, there was something wrong with them.

Not a warlord. While he did go to war, you’ll that for much of his life as commander, the wars were against the Makkans who persecuted his people through assassination attempts, murders, etc. Then you have the additional time he spent fighting people who betrayed his treaties, like Banu Qurayza. Also, here are his rules of war:

1. Do not kill any child, any woman, or any elder or sick person.
2. Do not practice treachery or mutilation.
3. Do not uproot or burn palms or cut down fruitful trees.
4. Do not slaughter a sheep or a cow or a camel, except for food.
5. If one fights his brother, [he must] avoid striking the face, for God created him in the image of Adam.
6. Do not kill the monks in monasteries, and do not kill those sitting in places of worship.
7. Do not destroy the villages and towns, do not spoil the cultivated fields and gardens, and do not slaughter the cattle.
8. Do not wish for an encounter with the enemy; pray to God to grant you security; but when you [are forced to] encounter them, exercise patience.
9. No one may punish with fire except the Lord of Fire.
10. Accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and to not do wrong even if they commit evil.

According to almost all the historians, Asma the elder sister of Aisha, was ten years older than Aisha. It is reported in Taqreeb al-Tehzeeb as well as in Ibn Kathir's Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah that Asma died in the 73rd year after migration of Muhammad when she was 100 years old. Now, obviously if Asma was 100 years old in the 73rd year after Migration to Medina, she should have been 27 or 28 years old at the time of migration. If Asma was 27 or 28 years old at the time of hijrah, Aisha should have been 17 or 18 years old at that time. Thus, if Aisha got married in year 1 AH or 2 AH (after Migration to Medina), she must have been between 18 to 20 years old at the time of her marriage.

Ibn Hisham’s version of Ibn Ishaq’s Sirat Rashul Allah, the earliest surviving biography of Muhammad, records Aisha as having converted to Islam before Umar ibn al-Khattab, during the first few years of Islam around 610 CE. In order to accept Islam she must have been walking and talking, hence at least three years of age, which would make her at least fifteen in 622 CE.

Tabari reports that Abu Bakr wished to spare Aisha the discomforts of a journey to Ethiopia soon after 615 CE, and tried to bring forward her marriage to Mut`am’s son. Mut`am refused because Abu Bakr had converted to Islam, but if Aisha was already of marriageable age in 615 CE, she must have been older than nine in 622 CE.

Saying that women aren't worthless dogshit doesn't make you not sexist. Ask Mohammed about the testimony of a woman in court.

The reason for that is women may go through something between the event and her testimony that may cause memory loss: pregnancy, which men don’t usually go through. Here are some articles: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... _08thdFLeR

Many scholars contend that if there was nothing to ruin her memory, the second there to remind her is not needed.

I suggest just stop it. He won’t surrender. It will be wasting your time trying to convince the ones who refuse change

Women on average perform better than men in all memory categories. You feel like Muhammad would have known this if he actually was a prophet.

Because they can. Same reason they can make fun of Jesus, Buddha, and other religious figures.

Can you give me your sources? And did they test pregnant women or women who recently gave birth? And are you aware Muslims don’t think Muhammad (pbuh) was all-Knowing. We do believe God is all-Knowing (al-Ālim), it’s one of his 99 names.

“And among God’s signs is this: He created for you mates from amongst yourselves (males […] for females and vice versa) that you might find tranquility and peace in them. And he has put love and kindness among you. Herein surely are signs for those who reflect.” (Qur’an, 30: 21)

“They (your wives) are your garment and you are a garment for them.” (Qur’an, 2: 187)

“Observe your duty to Allah in respect to the women, and treat them well.” (Part of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’s Last Sermon)

"And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them. (Qu'ran: 2:228)

" And call two witness from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not at hand, then a man and two women," (Qu'ran 2:282)

4:11 "Allah chargeth you concerning (the provision for) your children: to the male the equivalent of the portion of two females"

4:34 "Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them."

24:31" And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment."
