While all this is embarrassing for the SNP, the general lack of confidence in Scottish Labour is such that I think they can feel fairly secure that their voters will continue to back them, regardless of whether Sturgeon is forced to resign.

I can't work out whether the Conservatives thought the useless sod was somehow a viable candidate or if they just concluded they had no hope and sent someone useless out to die they could pin all the blame for using on.
