I would love it, but honestly I am cynical considering 99.99% of projects of these kind end up being whittled down and eventually dumped.

I wish we could be like Germany and actually get shit done. In Germany every major city has trams, hell most even have rapid transit too.

Trams are amazing. Manchester and Sheffield have a good system.

West Yorkshire was supposed to have one back in 2005 but that went bust.

It would help clear up a lot of train problems.
