Why would the UK be destroyed over a student exchange programme?

Also a genuine question but why do people make such a big deal over Erasmus? It was definitely a nice thing for students to have (or should I say is, considering it will go on until the next academic year) but the intense coverage of one quite small detail about leaving the EU here and some other places (Reddit primarily) seems quite disproportionate considering it is something that realistically affects only a small percentage of students. I've looked around for some statistics for how many British students actually take part in the programme and the best I can find is 0.5% of students using it in 2012/2013. I don't know a single person who actually took part in Erasmus, both of the institutions that I studied at were far more interested in offering opportunities to go out to partners in the US and particularly China anyway.

Good news, but I personally believe that until Vaccinations cover the elderly and vulnerable demographics and/or the number of admissions to the NHS has eased back to pre-December levels, it would be premature to plan trips to the pub yet. Still, it's looking increasingly likely we can expect to see some tier levels being eased around the middle to end of next month.

Lockdown here in NI is being extended till March 5th. So im hoping a good number of people can be vaccinated here between now and then to help maintain a good level once the lockdown ends. Hospitality last i checked is to remain closed here till April

Because NSG and some of it's posters getting into a hyperbolic tizzy over nothing goes hand-in-hand.

I mean, the government has made plenty of noise about wanting to remain in the scheme like several other non-EU nations.

Personally, given how evidence suggests it disproportionately favours rich kids anyway, I'd advocate getting rid of it, and focus on allowing more working-class young people getting their first experience of being abroad, as opposed to the comparatively affluent middle and upper class kids getting another trip abroad.

It's a funny thing for a socialist to complain about, the evening up of unequal distribution of vaccines. You have a finite level of vaccine supply and a plan for reaching most at risk people first. So you would shift supply about to makesure you completed those groups at the same time everywhere wouldn't you.

My area was one of the first to get a supply, got it so early that my grandparents have had both doses because it beat the change in strategy. So why would you vaccinate those less at risk in my area instead of those more at risk in another as you go down the list of priority?

When did I say I was a socialist?

The Government should ensure each region and the 3 constituent countries have enough.

Celrit being contrary to have a pop at the tories, imagine my shock :o

But seriously, you don't need to make controversies up to attack the tories, they have enough of their own already.
