What actually matters here is animal welfare, I haven't said anything about it because I wanted to see if that would actually figure in why you hate US chicken. Actually no, that's just bad advice you gave out to people. Cooking can, can, kill salmonella and other nasties, but the advice is always do not eat potentially contaminated chicken.

So don't eat chicken. Thats the only real solution. All chicken is potentially contaminated.

The problem will be compounded by the delays that are predicted at the ports, i.e. stuff will be selling out in the shops and there'd be no stock to replace it because it's stuck in trucks somewhere.
