Boris didn't want to because of civil liberties even though preventing the spread of Covid 19 and preventing widespread death trumps civil liberties in my opinion.

It's as if not opening up the UK so quickly would have helped see a decrease in cases, like in New Zealand.

We could have just maintained lock down with a slow opening up of restrictions to not endured e a second spike, but noooo.

Or we could have just done nothing then we wouldn't be talking about covid anymore and we'd all still have jobs.

You know the serious lung complications rate isn't 2% right? The death rate is only that low because the healthcare system is effective. It won't be if we do nothing to prevent the spread of COVID19.

Yes people would definitely choose to carry on as usual when the health services have collapsed and they know that if they or their families become ill they'll likely die on a trolley surrounded by the smell of faeces and people screaming in pain. They will embrace this all as an inevitability, in spite of the example provided by all the other countries who weren't complete idiots and did not have this happen. This is surely how mental health and human psychology would respond to such a disaster.
