It is futile to argue about this and any of your points will likely get nowhere. It's fun to debate about it, but you will achieve nothing in the process except making somebody slightly more faithful or slightly more skeptical of their religious beliefs.

Science literally can not prove that which is unfalsifiable, and most modern interpretations of a god are mysterious and incorporeal, who work in "mysterious ways" and can't directly be measured.

That is to say, empiricism can't disprove entirely philosophical concepts such as the possibility of an afterlife or a higher power.

Probably not, but if there is chances are that it’s not any of the gods we humans believe in, there is endless possibilities for who or what god is and how the world got created, so the chances that one of our 2500 gods are the actual god are close to impossible. I of course hope there is a god, but chances are that there isn’t, and if there is it won’t matter in the end since no one probably believed in that kind of god.

I don’t believe any God exists, no. I don’t see any reason to believe one does exist since there’s nothing compelling to suggest that one does.

Reminds me of a story where an atheist debates a priest. Dunno the source though, it was a long time ago when I read it. Or I am just making the story up based on fractured memories. :)

The atheist said: "There is no evidence that God exists because we never see him", or something along the lines, to which the priest responded by pulling his pants down and showed his butt to the atheist, saying: "You have never seen my butt before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!"

You do the interpretation.

The asshole priest probably thinks he is very clever, but there's mountains of evidence for butts. Every vertebrate we've ever seen seems to have one. And so - unless he is spineless - it's not particularly outrageous to suppose the priest has one too.

The belief in God is much more like the belief in a cryptid. Like bigfoot. It's not technically impossible that such a thing exists. And some people have presented some evidence for it. But all of it is bad evidence.
A lot of the "evidence" has been proven false. Not a bit of it has ever been shown to be true in any kind of objective way. And there's a huge history of fraud.

And so while a reasonable person would have to concede that bigfoot might technically be out there (we can't prove it's not), it's also reasonable to conclude that there's no good reason to believe in bigfoot, and that bigfoot probably doesn't exist.

I have spoken to him, he has guided me, and answered my prayers multiple times. I do have faith in God, against my rational scientific judgement, due to personal experience

EDIT: I want to clarify that he hasn’t spoken to me audibly, rather telepathically of sorts… it’s hard to explain

I don't know. There are so many world religions and traditions that it's near impossible that your god of choice is the correct one, I've always thought that was strange, the notion that there are thousands of faiths but just having the confidence that yours is right because you were born into it.

That said - there could be something greater than us, I'm really not sure. Perhaps not an omnipresent, all-knowing being, but something. But maybe there's nothing. I can't claim to know.

With God, you cannot prove their existence nor disprove it. I believe in some higher power because I have had results when I prayed. But sometimes I wonder if it's just my imagination. Either way, belief in a god (or multiple), for some, can give you a sense of security, whether they are real or just in your mind.

There's not really evidence for there being one, nor is there one outright saying so. Either way it doesn't matter - coming from someone who is religious in some sense (not an Abrahamic one).

I think it tends to get created out of a fear of the unknown. People afraid of what will happen after death, or worried that there was no guidance for people, or explanation for how things came to be. So they turned to providing an explanation themselves. My criticism of a lot of religion is a slight habit of it being forced onto people or generations, or else face 'eternal punishment'. From my perspective this is damaging especially on mental health. Also, religion often just gets used as a good guy badge: it's easy to say 'I believe in _____', but much harder to do.

So here's my thoughts: believe what you want to believe, but understand that there are many paths in life. Good people come from many walks of life: there are great people who do not believe in a God, as well as good people who do. Vice versa, terrible people have held religious beliefs and forced them onto others, same with non-religious people. Thus it is not about what your religious beliefs are, it's more what you do with them.

EDIT: I might elaborate more on my beliefs in a dispatch at some point

To paraphrase David Mitchell, no one has come up with an answer to what the hell is going on to an adequate degree that everyone else has dropped there stupid faiths and/or science crap and agreed that that's the hell that's going on.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long.
