Your original comment was how could a false religion spread among the peasants so widely. I gave you an answer in the Christian context, which had an obvious focus on Roman paganism because that is the primary religion that Christianity supplanted.

Do you have an actual argument or not?

And yet you avoided my question when asking what other religions or cultures you would like to talk about

a book given to an illiterate person will be just a block of paper
a math book given to a person ignorant of mathematics will be just a bunch of ghibberish
a sacred text given to a religiously illiterate will only allow the illiterate to bring forth more ignorance

like pearls given to swines, that's what the irreligious most often do with sacred texts
some foolish people believe that giving pearls to swines will make them develop appreciation for beauty, as pearls are beautiful
but swines will just eat the pearls, thinking they are food
swines will get a stomache from eating pearls
and then swines will shit out the pearls

same the atheist do, or the irreligious at large do
they eat up religious texts as if it was food
they get a stomache, and then shit out their understanding of sacred texts on forums

if swines could talk, they would argumentate how pearls are shitty food
same as atheists argumentate and debate about how religious texts don't make sense

pearls given to swines

Of course, religious people tend to only respect their own religious texts.
At least atheists often took the time to read the works of "the competition" instead of burning them ;)

So...

Any point behind all this beyond a cheap "irreligious people don't understand religion"?
Yeah: Egalitarianism, equality
Meh: Labour, the EU
Nah: pointless discrimination, authoritarianism, Brexit, Trump, both American parties, the Conservatives

It's pretty clear by itself i think.

The bible is a complex text, you need a good deal of previous understanding (historical, cultural, religious) to be able to read it and actually understand what is being conveyed.
Same as other specialized texts need specialized knowledge to be actually understood.

Missing that very basic point is how much of the stuff and critics spewed out by irreligious about christianity can be summed up to: ignorant bullshit.
Which is why in older times the bible was not given around for the illiterate to misread. But then protestantism happened, so now you all believe to be able to self-learn something, while you are just building up more and more ignorance based on misreading.
In that sense, you all irreligious here, would make old protestants proud. You have learned well from them. Truly a cultural legacy of illiteracy.

Not at all, quite the opposite actually.

But give the ^ in your last post, I assumed you were pointing to the missionaries in the previous comment.

However, you asked for examples of Christianity being spread by the sword in Europe, and now you have two.
