I’m going to be optimistic and say that tech has advanced. Peace will still be around, although NK and US are looking to kick ass with SK and Iran respectively. US and Russia’s relations will remain the same.
Domestically I think SEA will be a bit frostier, as I don’t expect Malaysia to have very good relations with Indonesia or Singapore. For sports, FC Barcelona will be a fallen giant, now languishing mid table.
Human smartness will probably decrease though.

Fusion reaction will be possible but may be due to a mishap, much of the public will be against them, such as what happened with nuclear reactors.

Climate change will continue to wreak havoc on the planet, and we'll begin to see unparalleled movement of climate refugees.

We'll live in an increasingly technologically connected world thanks to the Internet of Things.

The growth of automation and stagnation of wages will continue to shape the economic landscape. Wealth inequality will increase, especially as urbanization continues and we're all crammed into the cities. More and more people will work temporary, under-payed jobs, what Guy Standing called "the precariat."

US hegemony will slip as countries like India and China continue to grow. I don't see any end to the culture war in the US in sight. Conservatives and liberals will continue to bicker as the rest of the world passes them by.

Definitely concentrated in the West and where internet is widely available.

Either way, at some point I read that communication between Mars and Earth would be delayed by somewhere either between twenty or forty minutes (perhaps I'm wrong or that's outdated, I can't remember the source).

I feel both incredibly excited for, extremely envious of, and very sorry for the first potential colonists on Mars.
