Here in Portand at least it seemed like there where two separate crowds, at least for a long time. At one point in the night many of the peaceful protesters would go home, and some of those that remained where far more angry and volatile.

I literally watched the livestream(from the crowds point of view) as they did it. Unfortunatley, they were all wearing masks or black helmets so I couldn't send that information to the authorities.

I have daily had to deal with the shit the police and protesters are dealing since I live somewhat close to where those protests are happening. I was one of the lucky few that got scared awake in the middle of the night thanks to the police announcement vans, or those lovely flash bangs as the echo around downtown, or those lovely fire works. That night of looting that happened early on, I got tear gas in my apartment thanks to the police using it liberally.

Yes and? That's a fantastic, effective, non-violent way to protect protests from police brutality. The Chilean protests last year did it to great effect. They even took down drones with it.

Yeah I live it, happens when you live not that far from the protests. The mods can attest to the fact that thanks to those protests for a while the only time I could get sleep was in the middle of the day because the protests where going well into 3 and 4 in the morning. Also, your initial argument is a strawman. BLM activists have never denied that police also kill non-black people. The problem is the disproportion, and everything surrounding it. Police shootings of black people exist in a wider context of systemic racism which has been objectively, statistically demonstrated on multiple levels of the criminal justice system.

Except for one issue, police are given vast powers to enforce the law, and as such are necessarily held to a higher standard. More then that there is that blue line of silence, and the fact that they tend to rehire those who have had issues in the past, cover up issues within the departments, that they rarely actuall face the consequences of their actions, and the fact that they are actually an organized group representing the government and you have a very different scenario.

Yes but no, because police (and the criminal justice system as a whole) are a public institution with an established hierarchy and policies, and the problems with it have been demonstrated to be widespread and recurring enough to be considered systemic.
