People have lost faith in the system. Many on the left wing feel that there’s no hope anymore because they all know that a super conservative is on the court. That is now pushing them into supporting more extreme measures like revolution, General strikes, assassinations, and the like.

When you push people until they have no hope left they will either breakdown or fire back with white hot rage

Face it a second American civil war isn’t going to be red Vs blue but everyone and their mothers dog against everyone else. Think Syrian civil war turned to 11. Canada would immediately collapse under the weight of American refugees and the fighting.

American militias aren't well armed enough nor have enough members nor have enough of a coherent leadership hierarchy to hold any kind of territory or take any territory away from the very well-armed US Armed Forces.

Either the Senate would stop being Republican controlled, or else the Republicans would grudgely give up and allow a vote on Garland for fear of getting voted out of office by fed up constituents, if nothing else.

The National Security Infrastructure is designed specifically to be completely useless without legal orders. We just continue on with business as usual. You're making mountains out of molehills. We don't act independently. That's just not how we're built.
