Short of Trump dropping the N-word at the debate, I feel like there's nothing that can be done to convince half the country that he is, in fact, a committed racist.

And even then, that wouldn't convince many of the people who are presently blind.

Still voting Green? Biden's pick would be a much better option

Guess it depends on when a new justice gets nominated. If it happens this week, this month, or by the election, then nothing really matters does it?

That was a compromise with the Republican Senate and it might well have worked if McConnell hadn't shut the door.

Garland was a political choice!

Obama had the ability to withdraw Garland and nominate a more conservative candidate. He didn't.

Why should Obama bow and scrape to the Republicans, just to get a conservative justice either way?

Garland was close enough to the center. Take it or leave it. And remember the election was closely contested. McConnell's gamble could easily have gone wrong. Needless to say, I would prefer a new Justice further left than Garland.

Thankfully it seems we're going to get one much to his left. Tis good for me at least.

Raised it for what? ActBlue is a service that facilitates donations, like GoFundMe but specifically for liberal and progressive causes.

What would have been the point? McConnell was clear that he wasn't going to let any Obama nominee get a vote.

I don't have any data offhand, but I'm sure they don't normally facilitate the transfer of 11 million dollars in a few hours normally, regardless of destination.

Ah, so it's $11 million for liberal and progressive causes in general, not one specific thing on ActBlue. Got it.

I'm not sure if Trump himself has but I swear a couple hours ago I read a statement from his team saying he would. I'll try and find it again.

It seems like Romney already retracted his opposition to the move and I imagine Collins and co. will follow suit. A 6-3/5-4 (depending on how you view Roberts) court is a tempting thing even for ardent anti-Trump Republicans.

Collins will lose re-election if she does. Republicans need to grow a pair and tell McConnell he’s a hypocrite.

It's easy to counter that though, Collins is likely going to lose anyways, so why shouldn't she?

So I can't find the statement I believed I saw but Trump did retweet a statement from Senator John Thune saying that because the voters chose both a Republican President and a Republican Senate they're in the clear to nominate and ram through someone. Which all but confirms he's going to in my eyes.

Trump back at it again with the racism and accusing his opponent of being anti American. But lemme guess, calling his fans racist is somehow not Kosher.

It's xenophobic, but not racist.

Trump would probably thrill his fans if he called someone a nigger. Considering that a reuters poll showed that 40 to 50% harbor negative views of black people, I'm sure that would get them riled up.
