Wow, you had to edit out the edit so that you could still answer a question already handled. But why?

It depends on voter turnout. Not everyone who is registered Dem or GOP voted in the primaries, and most Americans vote during general elections, not so much mid-term, local, or primary elections. That, and No Party Preference voters are the largest block, but, as they're not affiliated with any party, usually don't vote in the primaries.

Alongside that, we have a weird system where we split election into a half year long event. Bernie Sanders may be winning Nevada, California, etc, but because Biden won a crucial state which influenced the next primaries to assume he's going to be the nominee, people in even later elections don't feel obligated to go out anymore since they feel it's been "decided". I'm horrible at explaining but I do hope the image of how it works is there. Ideally, I'm in favor of a one-day election. Could you imagine if Britain or Taiwan were to split their elections into months-long chore? I'm sure the Scots would take offense having less influence in who'll climb the polls via voting later than the English who vote first hypothetically.

Don't forget that the pony is compulsory. You're not allowed to slaughter it for meat, or sell it. You have to feed and exercise it properly.

A pony will be useful though. A lot less people will be able to afford a car, and there will be a pony lane (or two) on any road with more than one lane each way. We're still working on ponies with a charge port for your phone.

GOP does not behave like a normal political party and thus party elites/leadership were unwilling/unable to coalesce around an alternative and successfully stop Trump; Dem leaders still have a fair degree of influence in the party and aren't so terrified of their base, and behaved as party elites typically do to drive support for a more moderate candidate to prevent a more extreme candidate they viewed as riskier from taking the nom

Ah I see. It basically boils down to people not voting and the drawn out primaries. Thanks for explaining. (BTW, do you think it's possible for the primaries process to be changed anytime soon?

The fact that Trump is essentially using the White House, government property, for a private political stunt is shocking.

That definitely would not fly in most other democracies, and hell, most other American administrations.

Yeah, that’s some shittiness. And the whole ‘oh, it’s cheaper...’ think sort of flies out the window given the level of display that went on, the use of Marines in his promo videos and all the other bullshit. But the clincher was when he turned around and made sure that when he says ‘people’s house’ he definitely means his people specifically.

I know several people who actually work in politics as staffers or civil servants, and ALL of them are hyper paranoid about separating the work of the Government from the work of any given Party.

Having a political rally on government property, specifically the most iconic piece of government property in the nation is just astonishing to me.
