The IDF struck the Gaza Strip early Thursday morning, responding to incendiary balloon attacks that had entered Israel throughout the past day and caused fires in various regions, Walla reported, citing the Palestinian Shehab agency.

At least 28 fires broke out in the Gaza border communities on Wednesday, Walla added. More than 200 fires broke out in the western Negev over the last two weeks.

"IDF tanks struck military posts of the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit reported early Thursday morning. "The strike was executed in response to the launch of explosive and incendiary balloons from the territory of the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory."

This is the ninth night the IAF has struck the Gaza Strip amid growing tensions with Hamas. Rockets were fired over the last two days towards the cities of Sderot and Ashkelon.

A rocket warhead reportedly exploded near a house in Sderot earlier this week. According to N12, another rocket was intercepted over the city of Ashkelon on Tuesday.

Here Atheris, have a cookie for guessing it. Israel has been attacking gaza for the last 9 days, but things seem to be escalating into an actual shooting war within the last few hours.

In my opinion Hamas is in for another round of asskicking, courtesy of the IDF. IF it's war, anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks before it's over. What do you think NSG?

Tensions flare like this fairly often there, I doubt there's gonna be a war in 2020 but eventually there will be one within the decade.

The Palestinians have long suffered at the hands of Israel, and the senseless violence from members of both groups will eventually reach a tipping point ending in more Palestinian suffering, societal collapse, or a unified state.

I can already predict what'll happen. Hamas will bomb some farms, Israel will kill some kids, i mean murder civilians deliberately, er "defend itself," and at day's end neither the jihadists nor the ethno nationalists will actually accomplish much besides proving to the world that they're bigger scumfucks than we thought they were before.

No its very much like Apartheid south africa, many people seem to forget that there were blacks in South africa that could actually go out and do stuff, this is essentially the Israeli Arab and the East Jerusalem population in this case, but the rest of the palestinians live in the West Bank and Gaza which are both very comparable in living standards and quality of life to the South African Bantustans and Black Enclaves. Even so all arabs face a lot of racism and mistreatment especially in more conservative cities like my current home of Jerusalem. The Israelis openly racially profile during police actions and security actions, for example at Ben Gurion Airport, no arabs can get through with out about 3 to 4 hours of security checks and lots of abuse from security personnel. On a school trip coming back from New York, my Jordanian school teacher, was forced to go into a security room where he was strip searched and he had all of his belongings taken away, after they found nothing on him they proceeded to take all of our stuff away and said we were "tainted", idk about you guys but to me that sounds like some severe racism and segregation.
