If Greece decides to split on the refugee accords like this, the I can guarantee the larger EU will decide that all these handouts they're getting might be better used given back to the constituents they came from.
The EU Commission has called Greece 'Europe's Shield' and came out in support of us. Brussels has more than once dismissed left wing MEPs accusing falsely Greece. The EU has also pledged to hand money to Greece to boost its border defense. If anything, the EU leadership is glad Greece is stopping illegal immigration (for multiple reasons, ranging from weakening of populist right to taking away a weapon of Erdogan).
Am aware, Mannixa was asking about consequences for reneging on a theoretical deal, implying that there would be none. I responded with a statement showing how there could be, especially given that Greece as part of the EU is party to certain benefits that could be withheld if the EU decided they wanted to punish Greece.
