That's the best compilation of explosion footage I can find, as well as some of the aftermath. I highly doubt this was fireworks. If it was it would have looked alot more colorful and probably would have had multipule explosions all over the place. Honestly this looks like it could have been a small nuclear bomb or something similar. I hope they find out exactly who did this.

If it were a nuke then the explosion would’ve been significantly bigger and more destructive, and neither the person nor the phone they were using to record the video would’ve survived to upload it.

Whether it was an act of terror or an act of God, I don't believe the parts of the city laid to waste by the blast will ever be repaired. With how broke and dysfunctional Lebanon currently is, I expect those areas of the city to be a wasteland of rubble and twisted metal five years from now.

They're wheat silos. Those can also exploded but not to this extent. The likely answer is a firework explosion setting of a store something, maybe fertiliser or some other high explosive we just don't know, being kept their which caused the second much more devastating explosion.

From what I've read, there's 27 dead and >3000 injured. The explosion shook houses as far as Nicosia, Cyprus. For now it seems that a fire broke out near a building with unspecified "explosive and nonexplosive chemicals".

Could be. Also, to clarify, no significant damage in Cyprus apparently, but it was definitely felt there.

I admit that I could and should have demonstrated that more tactfully and for that I appologise, though it's true that the city and region hasn't known true peace for some time; whether it be military, political, economic troubles plus coronavirus on top of it.
Also yes Waltz with Bashir is amazing.
