Seems like when you call any city Paris other than actual Paris, it falls into a state of decay.

Considering my hometown is called "Paris of Java", I reject that statement. Hopefully.

It would definitely be incorrect to claim Lebanon is “developing” as that implies it is getting better. It is more a de-developing or degenerating country. Which should be a category.

It's a failed state.

True. It is basically ceasing to function as a society. The government is in shambles, unable to effectively govern, insanely corrupt, armed militias have more power than the security forces, the electricity only runs a few hours a day, the currency is worthless, the formal economy has all but ceased to exist. And now a part of the capital was blown up.

As far back as a couple years ago, my friend William went there and sent me photos of piles of garbage filling the streets up. Lebanon looks like a paradise in travel ads but it's a Jamaica style paradise at that.

about a personal quarrel of much pages ago. i even found and report to you the free vocabulary voice for ‘at stake’.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/it/diz ... q=at+stake

in the case, meaning i gave to it was fourth in the cambridge’s lemmas row, where it ‘adds a significance for a situation is difficult to ignore’.

precisely, even if it is ambigous, i meant not to say ‘without trial’, for it would have been at the stake.

so it was ‘the two aggressors regents have to be impaled, immediately (at stake), the earlier the better, because if not it will get even worse’.

to be honest, i often use, when much rarely people reads me, the formula of ‘beg pardon for my english’.

i will more sincere about. even if this is partially true, i often add it because my education tells me to do so.

i understand what people writes here, even if (you say..) you can not understand me. well this is difficult for me to hear.

also because i read articles in english, and hear tv channels, and i also understand them more as time passes.

then, if i compare this present forum to other english readings, i’m quite appalled for how deeply low is the english spoken here.

you seem often unable to write in your own language, if compared to other lectures. i fear you simply do not read your own language.

also see the ‘links’ you post, they frequently come from unsustainable papers where sentences can not be understood.

to come to the meat, it goes without saying the guy who gave me that answer is not merely much childish, also much incompetent.

i suppose you not grown old guy, i m much older than you, you may be 12-16 and still this is not a pass to be so futile.

what the hell you do not understand if you say about lebanon, few mile from it, there is a -full scale war- in syria, it is the same topic.

keep yourself in mind, as if you live in a city, say in miami, and you have got a full war in orlando (i made a sample for your country, so easy for you).

it is much obvious if miami flames, after some years this causes also that war to spread to orlando, when aggressors attempt a burn to the soil.

you are not even able to comment your own country, let alone foreign ones, and please do not say childish words without meaning.

^no, this is not an appeal. discussion about lebanon, and so about syria. the aggressors wish to stir war between ethnicities, so they bring sabotage.

Israel never "annexed" Lebanon, it occupied portions of South Lebanon and turned a blind eye to Phalangists massacring folks in Sabra and Shatila. Nowadays, the whole ordeal is largely regarded as a massive fuck-up. The ordeal as a whole, the 1982 Lebanon War, practically ended Menachem Begin's political career, and the war itself was incredibly unpopular in Israel as a whole, with support falling from 99% to 66% in just three weeks in 1982.1

I seriously doubt Israel has any further ambitions in Lebanon. Also, Israel really isn't a "racial supremacist" state, but we all know the troubles you have with definitions.

[1] The Sword and the Olive, Martin van Creveld, 2002.

Not a racial supremacist state? Israel is built from the top down on racism, from discrimination toward africans to the oppression of Arabs. In what world is Israel some land of equality and peace? Also Israel's war with Lebanon was unpopular because they didn't do so good. You know as well as i do that it would have been more popular if the IDF lost few soldiers but turned Lebanon into a crater.

Keep Israel out of Lebanon. They don't need to be occupying anyone else's homeland.

Israel is literally born out of Jewish nationalism that views Palestine as a Jewish homeland, i.e. Zionism. It's literally no different than any other nation-state in that regard. Israel's discrimination against Arabs doesn't make it "built upon racism", just as the Ashkenazim institutions' systematic discrimination against Mizrahim don't make the country built upon anti-Semitism. I don't recall positing that Israel is some land of "equality and peace", so I don't see where the point of that is.

And no, I don't know as well as you do that the war would have been popular had Lebanon been reduced to nothing. Are Israelis some sort of caricature in your eyes, rubbing their hands and laughing evilly as they presumably kill Arabs for fun and joy? Why the hell would they have supported the war if Lebanon had been left but a crater, really?

I can get behind "keep Israel out of Lebanon" - so did a lot of Israelis, apparently, back in the day - but I have no idea where you come up with this crap.

For fun and joy? More like because they view them as inferior in the way the Ku Klux Klan viewed black people in our southern region back in the 1800s through the 1960s. Israel is most definitely built upon racism. Why don't you read a little about the founders of the country, and see what they liked to do?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irgun

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lehi_(militant_group)

Israel is as built upon racism and xenophobia as the United States itself is built on slavery. Don't kid yourself. I'm not saying Israel should be wiped out, but right now it is a very racist place and it was a racist place to be since the beginning. Only when Israel guarantees equal rights for all and leaves other countries alone will things change. If you wish to continue this discussion, i would suggest you set up your own thread about whether or not Israel is a systemically racist nation with a racist origin.

Those poor Lebanese folks are gonna probably start pouring into my country during the worst economic recession in a long time. They're gonna add to the sea of humanity living in tents and boxes on M-59 that formed after the president and congress failed to aid Americans. They have nowhere to go. The sea, the "land of the free," or Syria. This really is a disaster.
