You stated Trump can delay the election up to his removal.

He cannot delay the election at all, that was the point we were making.

He can delay the election with the consent of Congress. Trump can propose that Congress delay the election, and Congress can decide whether to consent to the proposal, or to not consent to the proposal.

No, no he cannot.
If that was possible, Abraham Lincoln would have done it during the Civil War, and Roosevelt during WW2.

There is a reason for the Separation of Powers, this is one of them. The Executive cannot impose on the Legislature.

So for you, sexual consent means sexual imposition? I very clearly stated that Trump "can delay the election with the consent of Congress" and I'm talking about consent. You decided to change that to imposition, so I'm asking, do you think that sexual consent equates to sexual imposition?

Is an attempt Constitutional? Arguable, but not definitive until we get a Supreme Court Ruling, depending on how drunk Roberts might get. I'm referring to the Nevada case, where, for some odd reason, casinos can have more attendees than Churches, on a purely per square foot basis. You can tell casinos to pound sand, or you can tell Churches to admit people using casino criteria, but setting different rules for casinos and Churches is just plain insane in the membrane.

I dare him to do that. Congress would probably override his veto

Has anyone explained to Trump that pushing back the election doesn't mean pushing back the end of his term? Actually I think Pelosi is next in line for an acting president.

It’s fascinating how trump can just say something stupid and the market just shrugs off a 30% GDP contraction.

I'm not more skeptical than not at the chances of this succeeding but i'm not going to take the R politicians word for this that they would oppose this when the time comes. The possiblity of some being dishonest and some being pressured to switch is a bit too high.
It's the other groups in law that makes me skeptical not republican congresspeople.

Pretty sure it says in the constitution that the House Speaker will assume the acting President position if ever any election squabble isn’t resolved by noon of January 20th.

He won’t be able to make it happen but imo with coronavirus it should be delayed so it doesn’t lead to another wave.

So not only would it cost Trump the election it would also mean that the democrats would control the presidency in the interim

Unless the election is slated for January 12th, 2021, in which case whomever wins will control the presidency. January 1st is also a potential date.

Ya but the COVID measures will still be in effect until probably late February of 2021. So it’s likely that they do March 1st

Nope Pelosi as Pence’s term ends at noontime on January 20th, 2021. So without any election before that date Pelosi becomes acting President
