2.OK....So they still have the ability to repay these debts?

1. Again, China has renegotiated money for natural resources. Please, follow along, it's getting annoying having to repeat myself.

Sri Lanka is not an African nation, but the story of how it let China take a strategic port, the Hambantota, for 99 years should be a cautionary lesson for any country willing to borrow from China.

1. Not my guess, fact. China's taking up resources in the same way that European powers did so during The Colonial Era. In fact, China's making The Scramble for Africa look like child's play by comparison.
2. Debt Cancelation=/=Renegotiation. Those are two different things and require different processes to go through.

China doesn't even have the power to destroy 1 carrier though.

Most of their Navy is made up of Russian and South American ships that were made in the 80's and 90's.

Iirc, the first one was a purchased carrier from Ukraine, while the other one was recently constructed.

Also, ski jumps took up a lot of space, right? That would put them at a disadvantage in a naval confrontation with any naval-focused country.

Yeah, ski jumps take up a lot of space, which means less planes available on deck.

I wonder what the reporting name of the J-20 would be...?

What? We already know the putative reporting name for the SU-57 (Felon), so what of the J-20?

Yeah, I see no reason to believe this will lead to war. How many times have we heard people jump up and down screaming that random event X was totally, 100% for real going to cause ww3? Sorry if after Iran, North Korea, Russia invading Ukraine, and about half a dozen others I'm not buying into the panic.

tbh I see the next world power coming from Africa. Russia has set itself up as the next global power and the US and China based on how their acting are going to be replaced soon.

Russia with an only a population of 140 million (which is declining) and an Economy smaller than Texas does not have the ability to be a global power.

Africa could in theory, but it would need to unify and still would have a very long way to go to build up the economy, California alone has a bigger real GDP than all of Africa.

No, I am fully aware that is what they are doing. What I am saying is that this is reasonable and understandable behavior for any nation to do. And that it is not at all the insane fearmongering spread by people who think that the next step is painting the world red. I don't complain when america influences Canada and Mexico either. Of course it does and it bloody well has to in order to secure its own borders. I only take issue with nations that can't limit their sphere of influence to places where they have real security interests and try to actually take over the world.

The US has legitimate security interests in Japan and Taiwan. Why do we not have the right to ally with like minded countries in a region we have territory in which is important to our security?

Again like minded being key here, the elected governments of Japan and Taiwan WANT our help. Taiwan does not want the PRC taking them over.

If a country willingly wishes to ally with the PRC (note how few of its neighbors actually want to) they have a right to. But the PRC does not have the right to say it has exclusive power over all East Asia and take whatever land it wants.

Africa is likely never going to unify, at best you get a similar situation as Asia where you have multiple expansive and powerful states on the continent.

I agree, hence the in theory part. Also there is the huge cultural divide between Africa North and South of the Sahara, plus other less obvious but still big divides. Outsiders tend to look at Africa as one monolithic culture and entity which completely overlooks the complexities and diversity of the continent.
