What is the Goal of Humanity?

B-b-but Nuroblav, what's even the point of this topic? Why are you here to bother us with completely meaningless questions that probably few of us were even thinking about at this current point in time?

Yes

So...Humanity. We do stuff, go places, take part in events and societies and all that. But what are working towards? Is there something that societies or just the world in general should strive to bring about? Is there even anything that we should aim for at all?

In my opinion, there isn't a set goal as such, but we should aim to look after our planet, while still maintaining a largely free society. To reduce suffering in the world while understanding that this may not be the aim others have.

But those are my thoughts. What about you, NSG?

To repair our homeworld, to eliminate unnecessary suffering from our collective societies, to live in relative harmony with our future interplanetary and interstellar domains (planets, moons, etc and their native species/flora and fauna), and then go extinct at the end of the universe.

Just kidding, but in all seriousness, I would say our goal is to expand, thrive, build up, and conquer and tame that which stands in our way, whether it be nature, another planet's ecosystem, or a hostile extraterrestrial species hellbent on killing us.

And who is the enemy of humanity? Animals are not exactly fitting this role, and I've never seen aliens.

And if ya' ask me, there is no specific goal for humanity, except mastering the laws of nature and ensuring it's survival. Maybe even preventing universe heat death. Now that would be awesome!
