OP has repeatedly ignored my suggestion that he does so. He's chosen to die on the hill of Carlson's lie.

Which raises a serious problem with General as a forum: when an OP tells a juicy lie, or falls for somebody else's juicy lie, there really isn't a lot the rest of us can do to correct that and keep other posters from falling for that lie.

But I do think the title/OP of some threads with blatant misinfo should be able to be modified. Like, even just changing this to "NYT accused of planning to doxx TC" would be a major step up from the bias inherent in the current title.

Fair enough. But with maybe the exception of Covid, it seems like lying and biases aren’t banned. Besides, the site itself holds some level of bias, and even the mods have opinions (albeit separate from their role). What I like about NS is precisely that the mods aren’t biased.

How on Earth can News NOT be political? It’s inherently political by it’s very nature. It’s foolish to think one can report on a fundamentally political event from an apolitical standpoint. Asking news to be apolitical would be like asking musicians to make “silent music”.

Indeed. Critical thinking is a thing of the past. Some argued social media is to blame on that one.
