Just because the virus hasn't been eradicated doesn't mean you need mandatory masks and social distancing.

Flu hasn't been eradicated. Have you had masks and social distancing ever since 1918? No. The fatality rate went down on its own due to natural immunity, and that was even before they invented flu shots.

Measles hasn't been eradicated despite the existence of a very effective vaccine. Do you need masks and social distancing to control that? No. You just need to use the vaccine.

After a while, some combination of natural immunity and vaccination will reduce the rate of COVID infections and deaths, even if the virus is not eradicated.

I’m really glad that we might soon not have to worry about masks and social distancing.

I don’t think I could live in a world with permanent mask and social distancing rules. I think that’s why my mental health hasn’t been so great in the past few months.

Regarding CoVID19, what’s more important: lingering antibodies (which there seems to be indication of these lessening after the infection clears) or having a robust T-cell response in the fight towards flattening the curve entirely? I’m a bit confused.

My mental health is the worst it's been in years. Some days I don't even want to get out of bed. Even getting up to eat is like, "Do I really have to?"

I think I already caught the virus, but people still want to get up my ass about it if I don't take the same precautions they're taking.

You should still take precautions to protect other people, even if you think you already had covid-19.

It's unnecessary for people that already recovered to be as careful about masks and distancing. If I can't catch it myself, that also makes it much harder to infect other people.

Asymptomatic spreaders are still infected, even if symptoms haven't appeared.

And I'm not one of those people that thinks, "I had a headache one morning, so that was probably COVID." Pretty sure I got infected on Feb 29, symptoms started March 16 and lasted into early April. It is not some vague wishful thinking "I don't want to wear a mask, so I'll tell myself I already had an symptomatic case." I was actually sick, but it happened before the CDC released good guidelines and before testing ramped up. After I was already well past the worst of it, they came out with more detailed information about COVID symptoms and I was like, "Oh, crap, that actually does sound like what I have."

Ah, yes. I read that in China, some CoVID19 patients had improvements in their condition from using a certain medication for digestive problems at home. I don’t remember the name other than it started with an “f”. If I can find the article, I’ll edit it in here.

No, just a culture of, "if I have a cold, I'll put a mask on in public."

Other countries do this as a matter of habit. It's not outrageous or impossible.

SA is a much smaller state compared to NSW, not to mention the Eastern States is more highly dense with people there
