And where he lives, several industries have almost completely vanished. The entertainment industry is not going to find a 2/3 contraction easy to recover from, and I suspect that when they are allowed to open again there will be even more closures as broke companies have to rehire staff.

They have to be careful with these things, cause once their credibility takes a hit, because they were premature, it gets very difficult for people to listen to them.

You have to give people hope. In Germany there is no plan other than lockdown and people are growing increasingly frustrated and defiant.

Which people? My family definitely isn't getting defiant, they're just wearing masks, trying to stay home, and waiting for the vaccine.

Sure, with a smaller population that’s sustainable, but when you have millions on millions of people being paid to do nothing you’re just asking for trouble and governmental chaos.
