So China created it in a lab, so what? Does that mean we're going to war, which is of course what Trump wants because he promised peace? UN sanctions that won't do anything? An excuse to create Chinese internment camps?

China needs to pay either way for the damage they unleashed... And yet, that still doesn't absolve Trump of being an incompetent corrupt grifter, so.

Guess who claims this btw? Some Chinese activist Steve Bannon was filming.

It's probably all bullshit.

We've been through this conspiracy theory before, and even your own source cites research that's proven said conspiracy theory wrong.

Other scientists out of California have previously published a journal article mapping out the virus’ genetic sequence which they say proves “SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus.”

And as others have pointed out, everything about the report's publication is suspect.

Later in September, Yan co-authored a pre-print research paper named "Unusual Features of the SARS-CoV-2 Genome Suggesting Sophisticated Laboratory Modification Rather Than Natural Evolution and Delineation of Its Probable Synthetic Route."[28] Three other researchers were listed as co-authors, but the SCMP was unable to find any prior work from them.[29] The paper was uploaded to the Zenodo website, an open-access repository where anyone can post their research.[30] The paper is affiliated with the Rule of Law Society, founded by Steve Bannon and Guo Wengui.[28][30] The Rule of Law Society had not previously published scientific or medical research.[30] Yan had previously appeared on Bannon's "War Room" podcast.[29][30]

As usual, fascists can't science. They can only pretend to science.

Yeah, Bannon is a dick but not because he's anti-China, he's a dick because he's a far-right xenophobe who looks like the human embodiment of a Houseboat DUI arrest.

Trump has done an amazing job, the problem is that the states haven't been listening to his wise and enlightened words. If they did, the US would be in a far better position than it is now with governors imposing lockdown orders that do untold economic damage. I just hope that voters in America recognise the incredible job that Trump has tried to do here: the polls suggest they won't but we can largely blame the media for that.

As for China, it's a tough one. Obviously, they are totally to blame for not allowing international observers to investigate this virus early and for again playing the game they have such a history of playing regarding giving full information to the WHO. The fact they demonstrated lockdown techniques to the west is also inexcusable. However, I find it unlikely that the virus was intentionally created as China relies on foreign trade: it might have escaped but them releasing it intentionally sounds rather far-fetched.

America's problem, and to varying degrees other countries also have this problem, is that mask wearing has become a political issue. Many people are refusing to wear a mask, not because they don't know that they should or because they just don't have a mask, but as an act of protest. And there's very little that can be achieved by trying to punish people into not protesting.

I mean, it only takes a couple of well placed high altitude bursts to completely turbofuck the American economy. The Chinese aren't much better in that respect mind, but vaporizing more of their population doesn't particularly seem much more than a Pyrrhic victory.

Yeah, no. We have data on the effects of the reopenings, and unsurprisingly, the states that followed Trump's advice did worse.

You do realise that Trump is... pretty bad... at economics, right ? His standard tactic has always been to bankrupt his businesses and run away with the spoils.

Do you want your country to go bankrupt ?

Better hand it over to the Democrats now. Because as Trump himself said: the economy does better under Democrats.
