Got word from my sister, her and her family all tested negative. So I’m the only one who got sick thankfully.

Speaking of which I’m feeling a lot better compared to yesterday, throat and cough are not as bad, diarrhoea is still bad as is my headache and tiredness but hey it’s an improvement. Though nothing is necessarily set in stone, still many days to go

I'd expect that there will be long lasting, perhaps even permanent shifts in culture yes, but while we might not have effective vaccines, we do have (somewhat) effective treatments, as those become more readily available, things will start to get easier. Again while I doubt the pre-CoVid way of life will ever truly return, I doubt the worst of it will last.

That and going around with a mask is not all that bad a thing. Saw plenty of people do that in Beijing, particularly when one of the sandstorms from the north came down. And they always seem to have a mask when flying by air

But this is the future already! We're supposed to have force-fields, or at least plexiglas bulbs around our heads!

The global rich will just move, to the Arctic I guess. The global middle class will move to Canada and Siberia. And everyone else will wear air-conditioned suits any time they go outside their air-conditioned house capsule.

It's not nice. It's not something you'd wish on your grandchildren. But you know, when the car was invented it was probably quite horrifying to say that one day everyone would need a car, or else be a second-class citizen. Technology has side-effects, but technology is always a step ahead. The march of technological progress is always towards greater ease and comfort.

We don't need to start a climate change threadjack in the coronavirus thread, but because you mentioned it: Las Vegas has an all-time record high of 117*F (47*C), which was on only four days in over 80 years of observations. (117 has been the record high since 1942 and has been equaled, but not beaten, three times since.) I would be willing to bet it will not hit 135*F (57*C) there (which has happened once in world history and even that record is now officially de-validated) within my lifetime, let alone have that kind of temperature be an everyday occurrence any time of year.

On topic, it's good that the overall trend of new daily positive tests in the United States is now again broadly downward.

Not great but so far my symptoms don’t seem to be anything major. I’ve got a bad headache, bit of a temperature, coughing, bad throat, covered in sweat, I’m exhausted too. My sense of taste and smell is a bit off too

The temperature is bad but nothing too serious, same with my coughing. So far anyway. I started developing the cough and headache last night, everything else from today. No issues with breathing.
