Says pretty much every physicist that knows anything on the subject.

IIRC You need to produce literally infinite energy to go faster than light. And even if you did, nothing would survive.

To go AT the speed of light. Some things go faster without infinite energy.

The thing is, you must accelerate through the speed of light fester faster than the minimum (quantum*) time to exceed the speed of light.

Think Overdrive (or hyperspace etc.)

Based on probability, the first extraterrestrial life we encounter will be simple bacteria, at best plants and animals, I highly doubt it’d go straight to intelligent aliens. If we do find a planet with unintelligent life, it could be exploited for resources for the benefit of mankind, maybe even set up colonies to deal with the looming overpopulation problem here

Does a warp drive go FTL?

Technically no, but it does move objects from A to B faster than light.

Impossible according to our present knowledge of physics.

And centuries ago they said it was impossible for man to fly. Our understanding of physics at this point in time is not necessarily the absolute truth of the universe.

We've said that hundreds of times before. It's impossible to go FTL directly, but the thing about physics is there's just about always a way to bend the rules. We just haven't figured how to bend this one.
