Most hispanic people don't use that perversion of Spanish.

In my first year of college I joined the Latin Students Association and the heads of the thing always used that word.
I expected the LSA to be a bunch of stereoptypical esses hanging out and I wish it was, cause the leadership (not the rank in file members) was heavily SJW in character.

For that matter, how do they pronounce it?
Because I'd be intentionally mispronouncing it just to make a point...

Latin-ex, but I pronounce it as Latinks because that represents it's stupidity more clearly.
I agree, Latinx is stupid. Don't try to bring gender-neutrality into a language that doesn't allow for it so that you can show how woke you are. You end up being more racist. It's almost like it's suggesting that there's something inheritably wrong with the Spanish langauge

It may behove you to look up what a neologism is.
"Latinx" is a fabulous example of neocolonialism. In Spanish, latino(s) refers to Latin American men, but also Latin Americans in general. The correct gender-neutral term is and will always be Latino. Latino schools, Latino community, Latino voters. A group of Latin Americans is Latinos, unless they are all female, in which case they are Latinas. "Latinx" is a poor attempt to apply Spanish to gender-neutral English, and a hilarious example of why progressives are often unintentionally bigoted and racist.

Wait, none of this is true. Ignoring for a fact the hilariously inaccurate claim that the language will never change, the x suffix has actually originated in Peninsular Spanish independent of English influence to build a more inclusive language.

In English we say mankind. In Spanish we refer to a group of hispanic guys as Latinos. I dont see a difference nor do I think it matters. Latino rolls off the tongue better than LatinX, and I dont wanna rewrite our whole language over something only a minority of people actually care about.

I agree completely, except you're forgetting the fact that the people who use "Latinx" are also the people who chuck a mental about the word "mankind". Personally, I use "humanity" instead of mankind, but I won't fault anyone who uses mankind. Also, before you chuck a mental about me using the expression "chuck a mental", keep in mind that I've been diagnosed with two mental illnesses, aspberger's and depression, and I really don't give a fuck

Bro I'm the guy who makes race jokes daily and am voting for EDP445 for president. The only things that offend me are mean spirited remarks about people I know, or actual physical harm, so you good.

It's actually an attempt to Anglicize a word from a gendered language without being sexist in the process.
Appropriating a word from Spanish is actually not all that politically correct. If you wanted to be fully respectful you'd say "Latinas and Latinos" or "Latinos and Latinas" but there's the problem. You can't use just one of those (putting one gender before the other): you'd have to alternate usages.
Perhaps a Spanish speaker could advise? Is "Hispanic" a suitable substitute for "someone with an ethnic background in Latin America"?

Well good for them. Maybe they'd like to try again, come up with something that can be pluralized without sounding excessive ...
Is Latini a plural, or some other word, ruling it out?

It doesn't, just pronounce the "x" like the actual letter in Spanish, and not like the English sound: Latin-equis (eh-kees).
Latini just sounds like crappy Italian.
