Just another Thursday in the year 2020, nothing new to see here......

I'm still waiting at that part where magical girls will arrive to save us all. I hope that its part of the 2020 Apocalypse DLC.

China's a hotspot for potentially dangerous diseases thanks to the magical wonder of biology and geography, but even as a cynic I'd honestly be surprised if we get hit with a second pandemic on top of an existing pandemic. I don't recall that happening ever before in history - though I could certainly be wrong. I always kinda thought the "2020 is the worst year ever" stuff is a bit exaggerated by people for the meme because we happen to be in the middle of a black swan event, but if we get a double pandemic I'll fully believe it. At that point I would fully embrace drunken nihilism secure in the knowledge that the Earth itself will explode on December 31st and there's not a thing we could do about it.

I'm kind of curious what Teddy thinks of iron age civilization though. After all, it's still pretty primitive...

Trumpets, maybe? Islamic eschatology says that before the world ends, angel Israfil will blow a trumpet whose sound is so blaring it'll hurt everyone's ears. Then again, before that happens all pious Muslims are already killed by a magical wind, and before that the world must be decimated by Ya'juj Ma'juj tribal horde first (whose numbers outnumbered the human population like 9:1 and apparently hides somewhere in the Caucasus), and before that there's still seven year of Worldwide Caliphate, and before that there's still the coming of Dajjal (Islamic Antichrist). So at least we still have a long time to go.

As much as I can meme about 2020, well, it's a new novel swine flu, shouldn't be the end of the world. Maybe someone with more background here can better eloquently explain this - but any existing treatments for swine flu (not necessarily vaccines) can probably be used pretty immediately were this to start infecting people. Additionally, with China still on high alert and with limited travel to and from, I'm pretty confident this won't be making waves, COVID will be the virus to continue to do so.

Although, perhaps China's government should look into more proactive virus prevention and mitigation, seeing as a multitude of viruses have come from their open air markets and deforestation projects. They're the kings of regulation, why then, can't they regulate a simple health policy with efficacy? Smh.

I don’t think it would be as bad as the one we got on our hands, but who knows. I really hope that isn’t the case though.

If Yellowstone erupts, I don’t think Trump could keep stability in order. It would be likely that if it was a mega-explosion and following projections (which means Las Vegas to Saskatchewan to Kansas iirc), California and Cascadia would be in chaos and likely itching for independence.

I hope it isn't, but given how 2020 has brought us to the brink of war, has unleashed a new disease upon us, and with locusts causing famines... I am starting to become more and more convinced the end times may be upon us.

So Pestilence is flexing its muscles,
And War is barely held back (Trump + Biden = who can rattle that sabre the loudest? Possible targets: Russia, Iran, other Middle-East. Putin can target any part of the former Soviet Union. China is punishing its colonies Tibet and Uyguria...)
And Africa is on the verge of Famine (and overpopulation)
And then there's Death, a.k.a. floods and droughts through climate change

Yeah, sounds like an Apocalypse is on the way.

So... are we heading for the Mountain of Meggido, or are we gearing up for Mad Max realities?

New Flu Found In PRC

Postby Australian rePublic » Sun Jul 05, 2020 2:40 am

https://amp.abc.net.au/article/12418022
https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN2450DI
https://beta.ctvnews.ca/national/world/ ... 10785.html
https://globalnews.ca/news/7138747/chin ... e-flu/amp/

A new disease capable of turning into a pandemic has emergeged from the People's Republic of China. And no, we're not talking about Covid-19. This is a brand new swine flu. China claims to have it under control, but who only knows how true that is. Considering they lied about Covid-19 being under control, who can trust the CCP? The CCP also denies a study which confirms that this new flu virus has human-to-human infection. You think that they would've learnt from Covid to stop doing that, but I guess not. Anti-body testing proves that many aged between 18-35 have already had it. That is, if you believe the CCP's statistics. I don't know why the AUstralian ABC is buying so much of the CCP's bullshit

I'm sorry that this is a short OP, but I really don't what else to say. I am glad that I live in a country with closed borders, and feel so sorry for the Chinese people who to deal with this shit as well as Covid. The sooner we get their horrible government, the better.

It begs the question though, why do so many diseases come from China, and what can we do about it?
