Yes, but also genuine ideological myopia.

Phrasing their policy on hate speech in terms of minorities/majorities betrays how short-sighted (though historically conditioned) their understanding of how marginalization and hate operate is.

It's like they haven't heard of South Africa back during apartheid.

That's the only thing that I take a huge issue with. Such weasling to weed out communities they don't like. Not to mention that it is used as a whistle.

Rule 1: Remember the human. Reddit is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Everyone has a right to use Reddit free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence. Communities and people that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect all groups or all forms of identity. For example, the rule does not protect groups of people who are in the majority or who promote such attacks of hate.

It's official, Reddit is turning into a reverse Nazi Germany (which is just as bad as the real Nazi Germany). Not to mention, r/BigChungus also got banned. That ALONE is not a good idea in my opinion

Ehm:

A rule for the protection of minorities is not extended to include all identities (such as political, philosophical or dietary identities).

Not sure how this means that HATING THE MAJORITY IS ALLOWED OMG !!!!!!!!!11111!!!!!!one!!!!!11111

It merely means that the protection for a person of colour is more extensive than the protection for a vegetarian.

OP's interpretation is hysterical.

One: It did explicitly say that the protection does not extend to majorities (whatever that means, but thanks for pointing out that they're non-POCs i.e. whites, who ain't even a majority in the world population)
Two: Why should one person gain more protection over another? Oh wait... power, whatever that means in the context of internet identities that conceals your skin color and appearance.

Reddit has a right to do what is wants on its website, but they really, really, should not start censorship.

Chapo Trap House? They were just as bad as the others banned, except they were commies as well. Anyways, I can agree that many of these subreddits warranted banning, though I'm not so sure about some of them.

That's the one. Considering it was a radical sub, I get why it was banned, but they were fun to hang around. CTH definitely wasn't "just as bad" as the fascist, alt-right, and incel subs that went with it from any standpoint other than they were also rule-breaking.

They regularly had people who liked to talk about killing their opponents, they absolutely were as bad.

Note: still shouldn't be banned.

The bit in the rules about them "not protecting the majority" should be cut out.

Killing slaveowners and Nazis has justification behind it, whereas kiling racial minorities and Jewish people does not. There is absolutely a difference.

Who should and shouldn't be killed and whether it's justified or not is purely a question of ideology.

I joined for a few days and left Reddit, as it is a silly place full of the selective moderators of petite fiefdoms AKA Sub-Reddits. It is basically the opposite of Facebook, as there is virtually no one objective in Reddit to bring folks into line for trolling, harassment, and whatever else.

The best way to have a decent discussion on a topic is to avoid Reddit entirely, and use something more reputable like Politics Stack Exchange.

There are some decent subreddits, and they are a rarity.

A.) The only slaveowners in the modern US are generally racial minorities.

B.) There are little to no actual Nazis in the US. Just punks who use their symbolism for shock value.
