Doesn't that seem just a bit overly dramatic to you? It's a website, not a country that wanted to take over the world and commit systematic genocide.
Ten bucks for anytime someone says "LITERALLY HITLER" in response to something on the Internet?

So the CCP won't let me be or let me be me so let me see, they tried to shut me down on CBC but it feels so empty without me.

Yes but that logic makes it hard to moan about those evil feminists and SJWs ruining everything.

The Internet isn't for children at the end of the day. If you can't handle supposedly 'hateful' opinions (re: opinions you happen to disagree with), grow a backbone and just don't look at that subreddit, instead of behaving like a whiny authoritarian and pressuring Reddit to shut down and de-platform any community of persons whose views you just don't like and can't handle.
Everyday, the approved Overton window of 'acceptable' opinions shrinks smaller and smaller in width. So many people who express perfectly reasonable opinions about certain policies pushed for by a so-called 'marginalised and vulnerable group' (to borrow Reddit's language in its 'Remember the Human' bullshit rule) are in danger of being censored and thrown off online platforms altogether. Its insane. Where's the space for a thriving and vibrant online marketplace of ideas anymore? Its gone.

Reddit is honestly the worst example. There are lots of subreddits I'm not interested in; whole communities to chat about lady Gaga, Minecraft and Arsenal football club.
I don't look at them.
Because they don't interest me.
The only reason you'd look at these subredits if they don't interest you is because you want to be 'offended' or 'outraged.' Anybody looking at them who disagrees with the content of the subreddits, the clearly advertised content no less, has no good faith reason for looking at them in the first place.

That's literally the whole point of the subreddit system. Having communities of people with similar tastes, preferences, and interests, so you can meet people like you, discuss issues that you all are interested in, listen to what people in that space and that community have to say and think. Your Reddit experience is perfectly customisable, so if you don't want to see content that upsets you literally just don't go there instead of pettily trying to have an entire community, platform, and space shut down because your fragile feelings can't take it.
RIP r/GenderCritical. You really deserved better

Sorry can't engage, a Manchester city fan decided to call Manchester city the 'only Manchester team' and now I need to report it to reddit for offending me deeply as a Manchester united fan. Can you help with convincing arguments? I'm not sure if I should feel 'deeply traumatised' or 'marginalised and minimised' as a Manchester united fan whose team has been declared not to be in Manchester by this random guy on the internet. What would you suggest?

Reddit used to be that place that allowed bomb-making videos and jailbait communities. Like...a website that actually agreed with free speech. I don't know when the people in charge of it began to cave to the whiners but it's sad that they did.

Oh no, how terrible for you GVH. Well, Reddit's new rule and policy calls on all subreddits to 'Remember the Human', sounds like this person is "promoting hate based on identity and vulnerability" against you. So you should probably report and try to get that subreddit banned. After all, the point of the Internet is to be purged of all speech, publications, and communications that could upset or offend you. That's how it works.

I'm not sure refusing to host illegal content is "caving to the whiners". Besides, it's a private company, it can do what it wants.Purgatio wrote:We should at least be moving in the direction and trajectory of making that a thing, rather than regressing even further into the Regressive Left's endless desire for more and more draconian online censorship of views.
Why?
As far as I am concerned those views are detrimental to the cohesion of society and should rightfully be suppressed. It's a shame we have to rely on private business to engage in this, but it's at least a start.
