You know, for the safety of all people.

No crime, it's a simile.
If they report potential rule-breaking, and Reddit reacts to those reports, I would not fault those who report. They did things correctly.
(If they report things that aren't rule-breaking, and Reddit reacts to those reports, I still wouldn't really fault those who did things in bad faith for Reddit's mistake, since it's up to Reddit to handle its rules correctly.)

I hear Parler houses a good bunch of the people on the right side of the spectrum now.
Also, I'd like to ask. I'm a bit out of the loop. What's the drama behind r/GenderCritical?

I know its a simile, doesn't answer the question as to what it is that r/GenderCritical did that was apparently so awful and terrible it morally-justified evicting them out of an online platform altogether. What exactly did they do that was so egregious and reprehensible? Feminism?

I dunno about "hysterical and radical crime activists", but we've had a lot of (tbh, kinda of unhinged) complaints about calling police on minorities for literally any reason - even when the individual in question is committing a crime in plain sight.

I mean, that is pretty egregious and reprehensible in some contexts.
But, I believe it had to do with trans hatred. I'm looking to see if there's an archive i can pull some greatest hits out of.
(I actually don't think hate subs like gendercritical should be banned, incidentally - they should be monitored. Banning them just makes them disperse, spread out, and then make more elsewhere.)

Again, what rule are they breaking? What about r/GenderCritical broke Reddit's ridiculous and absurd 'Remember the Human' policy? There is nothing marginalising or dehumanising about radical feminism and fighting for women's liberation, so as to deserve getting banned from Reddit.

Its not hateful to define the aims of feminism and the liberation of "women" based on biological sex rather than gender identity. Its a legitimate, academic and intellectual disagreement as to the meaning of the word "women" and its implications on a social, political movement. Taking a side in that discussion does not make one hateful, it just means you have a different opinion.

That's up to Reddit to decide. It's their ToS.

Given how authoritarian the radical trans activists and gender ideologues can be in 'cancelling' people who say things that offend and trigger them (see the drama with J. K. Rowling and Graham Lineham), its easy to see why Reddit caved into their bullying and intimidation tactics. No one's right to speak their mind is safe and secure until the petty authoritarianism of these radical trans activists is finally stopped for good.

Ah, I think I understand.
That's more complicated. It's usingmodspolice as a weapon, but in a quite literal sense. IRL, that can have fatal consequences, and when you call an armed response on someone who're plainly not doing anything wrong it can be problematic. It shouldn't be criminal, however, and the fault of police shooting innocent people ultimately lies with the police - kinda like how Reddit's choice to remove subreddits is something they're ultimately responsible for.

Sure, ok.
But that's rather beside the point - there was also the hatred that went with it.

Reddit didn't cave to anyone's bullying or intimidation or anything like that. Why would they? Reddit is the party with all the power here.
