Pretty much all of the Situationist International, which is funny because they were silly leftcoms.

Not entirely "political," but Jesus Christ. Christ comes before any politcal figure.

Ah yes Mao and Stalin. Two extremely admirable people.

I suggest you do some reading.

Yes, Josef Stalin and Jesus.

You do know that Josef Stalin did horrible things to his people. He is not one to admire, however I have to agree that I too am quite fond of Lenin. It’s impressive to me how you can just switch a whole country on your side. And to the Jesus thing that was just a joke.

William Jennings Bryan was my favorite American political figure. He defended Christianity, and he also ran for president three times. That's perseverance.

I'll limit myself to U.S. presidents to make this easier.

  1. Abraham Lincoln

The person most responsible for preserving the Union and ending slavery within the United States. Despite his lack of a formal education, he was an extremely intelligent and shrewd individual... and an extremely savvy politician.

  2. George Washington

A man of impeccable honor and personal conviction, the foremost founding father of the United States quite literally shaped a majority of the conventions of the executive branch of government with his actions.

  3. Teddy Roosevelt

One of the most fascinating figures in American history, he was responsible for many progressive policies within the U.S., including the establishment of anti-monopoly regulations, food and drug quality standards, and numerous national parks and forests. He additionally took the U.S. out of its relative foreign isolation and began the spread of its influence throughout the world.

Stalin did terrible, terrible things. Not because he was a "communist", but because he was a power-hungry, genocidal maniac. I don't care if you advocate for socialism or communism or whatever. That's a debate for another time, but Stalin and Mao's regimes were not nice places for the majority of people. Denying events like Holdomor or the Great Leap Forward is immature, childish, and stupid.

Me too, but you don’t need to study hours to know Stalin and Mao was bad. I learned that as a little kid.

George Washington might not be the perfect leader the United States had in the first years of its founding, but he clearly demonstrates several good qualities as a statesman. In some ways, he is selfless (first refusing to take up the mantle of President), he is not an opportunistic tyrant (refusing to take more than two terms), he is a patriot (leading American revolutionary forces against the British Empire, a world superpower), and for that he should be commended.

Personally I think Washington is one of those giants of history who was fine at the time but is severely overrated relative to successors. Lincoln, Grant, Wilson, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Clinton... America had so many greater presidents later. He's definitely top 50% of presidents but I don't think he'd break my top 10.

Yeah, I don't know how to answer the OP's question as there isn't really any political figure I admire and most of them are rather disappointing. Maybe I just have perfectionistic standards, Idk.
