Man of power and attention in a historically shady business? Not particularly surprised if he's guilty. More surprised he's alive, I thought he looked ancient almost two decades ago.

This is quite possibly a significant part of the problem.

Remind me again why we haven't switched cultural norms to the woman making the first move? Worst-case scenario it just gender-flips the whole rape issue, assuming the differences in pickiness between the sexes turns out to be nowhere near as pronounced as it was made out to be. And if it does, the blame can always be shared with those who failed to convince us of as much.

Because "change cultural norms" is easier said than done even if the cultural norms in question aren't deeply entrenched gender roles that may well have a biological basis.

As a fellow Christian, I must disagree. Attempting to mix religious morals into modern politics and government is not the proper course of action.

Well, a few reasons:

A. A lot of Modern Feminism really likes the idea of Feminism of Convenience, so equality only applies when it's convenient for the group and basically doesn't matter when it doesn't, and having to ask people out in inconvenient and scary so it doesn't need to be fought for
B. A lot of guys and gals don't like the idea because the guys feel emasculated and the gals believe it should be a man's job to woo them

I made the "first move" alot in my life but it was always awkward. I was a very awkward teen which is strange considering that I was also your stereotypical vato in the varrio as a kid, but I used to be so weird around women. It was maybe around age 18 that I finally lost my awkwardness.
