There may be some hope for me yet, then! Hate requires too much time and energy, and seeing people unhappy makes me rather sad, so it's not in my nature to do so. Consider it a weakness of mine, to be honest. Can't fix the world's problems, no matter how hard I may try. It's one of those things that's a bit polarized in autistic people - we're either really bad at being empathetic, or we empathize far far too much, like me.

I think it’s verses in Leviticus and elsewhere. If you go on Wikipedia, you can find a full listing of all verses that refer to homosexuality.

Seems to be that unless you read those verses out or come up with a very forced interpretation (to make it fit with modern liberal politics), the Bible verses pretty clearly condemn homosexuality. I mean, thousands of years ago, views towards homosexuality weren’t the same as in places today.

It’s something every believer will have to wrestle with and draw their own conclusions. But the Bible is written as is.

Unless a church is following Leviticus to the absolute letter then saying the bible says so in this case isn't really the case. Besides the old testament is hardly canon law in Western Christian Churches since Nicaea.

Slavery, however, is not condemned at all in the Bible. But for some reason you do not hear many religious leaders of Christianity proclaim that owning slaves is perfectly fine for good Christians.

Most churches nowadays picked their teachings from the New Testament, which is the basis of Christianity (as the Old Testament/Torah is the basis for Judaism), I think. And the NT is clearly more "open" than the OT (in the sense the OT lines out so many rules and condemnations, while the NT primarily talks about Jesus' message of salvation and love)
