We Filipinos view circumcision more as a rite of passage than anything else in my experience, kinda like how people obsess with getting laid in Western pop culture.

Why is circumcision even a thing in the Philippines? Some sort of Muslim historical influence? It certainly isn't big in other Catholic countries.
